Giudice Daughter Seeks Presidential Pardon Amidst Backlash

Gia Giudice is now seeking a presidential pardon for her father Joe Giudice after he was deported to his home country of Italy following his 2014 conviction

REAL HOUSEWIVES STAR GIA GIUDICE'S FATHER JOE ASKS FOR PARDON FROM DONALD TRUMP - BUT HIS REQUEST IS MET WITH BACKLASH AND OUTRAGE!

In a shocking move, Gia Giudice, daughter of Real Housewives star Joe Giudice, is now seeking a presidential pardon for her father six years after he was deported to Italy following his fraud conviction. But what's got everyone talking is not just the fact that Joe is asking for clemency from Donald Trump, but also the sheer audacity and entitlement of Gia's request.

As you may recall, in 2014, Joe Giudice, along with his wife Teresa (who was released after serving only 11 months behind bars), pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and three types of bankruptcy fraud. The fact that they got caught and served time is one thing, but what's truly astonishing is the fact that they thought they were above the law. And now, Joe's daughter Gia is trying to get him a second chance - or rather, a third chance, considering he already had two chances in the form of his prison sentence and deportation.

Gia took to Instagram on July 4th (yes, you read that right - Independence Day) to share a video where she wrote and mailed character letters to Trump, hoping it would lead to a pardon. But what was supposed to be a heartfelt plea quickly turned into a mess when followers began calling her out for being tone-deaf, privileged, and insensitive.

In the video, Gia explained how her family has been living in an "emotional limbo" since Joe's deportation, and that she believes he deserves a second chance. She even referenced the Chrisley family's recent pardon from Trump, saying it gave her hope that maybe her dad could come home too. But what Gia failed to mention was the fact that the Chrisleys were found guilty of defrauding banks out of $30 million - whereas Joe Giudice only got convicted of tax evasion and bankruptcy fraud.

The comments section quickly turned into a heated debate, with many calling Gia's request "privilege at its finest" and accusing her of being out of touch with reality. One follower even compared her to Savannah Chrisley, the woman who lobbied for her parents' pardon after they were found guilty of defrauding banks.

Her post contained video of her writing and mailing character letters to the president on behalf of her father

Some of the more scathing comments included:

  • "This is rather tone-deaf considering your father committed a white collar crime and got deported but people are getting deported and sent God Knows Where without even having criminal records. Your fans want you to use your influence to help the less fortunate and I don’t blame anyone for not having sympathy for your father who is dealing with consequences based off of choices he MADE."
  • "Are you currently aware of whats going on with immigration at the moment in this country? Smh,"
  • "Wasn’t he in the US for years and didn’t pursue citizenship?! With everything going on, your family is asking for a pardon! Y’all are beyond tone-deaf…This is utterly ridiculous…"
  • "Gia. Your dad had YEARS to become a citizen and didn’t. He broke laws and this is his consequence. Why is he any different from anyone else who was deported for criminal behavior? Because he has daughters? Because he had money? The laws apply to everyone. I know you miss him & want him here-I get it. But hes only a flight away-and at least you can afford to visit."

Despite the backlash, Gia's mother Teresa (and Joe's ex-wife) showed her support by posting a string of red heart emojis in the comments section.

Gia said she was inspired to seek a pardon for her father after the Chrisleys were released from prison

But what's truly shocking is not just Gia's request, but also the fact that her father has been asking for a pardon on social media as well. In recent posts, Joe claimed he was "thrown into a country I knew nothing about" and treated like "garbage" by the US authorities. He even went so far as to say that murderers get treated better than fraudsters in the US.

When asked why he didn't become a citizen while living in the US for decades, Joe had no answer. But what's clear is that he's desperate to get back to his daughters and wants Trump to grant him a pardon - or rather, a second chance.

As one follower so aptly put it: "Maybe work on changing the laws for everyone instead of your dad getting special treatment." Well said, friend!

She included the hashtag on the envelope, 'Bring Joe Home'

Only time will tell if Gia's request will be granted, but what's clear is that this story has all the makings of a juicy reality TV drama. Stay tuned!
