Gia Giudice, 24, has broken her silence over the backlash she received after her plea to President Donald Trump to pardon her father Joe; seen on Wednesday in NYC

Gia Giudice Spills Tea on Her Plea to President Trump to Pardon Her Dad Joe - and It's Getting Juicy!

In a dramatic turn of events, Gia Giudice, daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa and the infamous Joe Giudice, has finally broken her silence on the backlash she received after posting a plea to President Donald Trump to pardon her dad.

As you may recall, Joe was deported back to Italy in 2019 following his fraud conviction. But Gia's recent plea for clemency sparked outrage among some fans who accused her of being "privileged" and tone-deaf given the current immigration crisis.

The media personality, 24, shared a video on the Fourth of July to ask the current president to allow her dad back into the U.S. - after he was deported in 2019 to his home country of Italy following his fraud conviction

Gia, 24, sat down with People magazine at the Next Gen event in NYC on Wednesday to address the controversy head-on. And let me tell you, she's not holding back!

"I apologize for posting that on the Fourth of July," Gia confessed. "I got so much s**t for that. I felt so bad."

According to Gia, she filmed her plea just a day before the holiday and couldn't resist sharing it with her fans. But little did she know, the comment section would quickly fill up with criticism and skepticism.

'I apologize for posting that on the Fourth of July,' the star told People. 'I got so much c**p for that. I felt so bad'

Gia insisted that she wasn't being "privileged" or "entitled," but rather, she was simply trying to do what was best for her family - including her mom Teresa, who's been dealing with her own share of drama following her divorce from Joe in 2020.

"I'm not privileged, I'm not entitled. The first thing on my mind that morning was just getting a point across and not disappointing my dad," Gia explained. "That was really it."

Gia also took aim at those who accused her of being insensitive to the ongoing ICE raids, saying she didn't mean to offend anyone.

'And I'm not privileged, I'm not entitled. The first thing on my mind that morning was just getting a point across and not disappointing my dad. That was really it,' she explained to the outlet

"I felt like I couldn't take down the clip because it also just looked bad," Gia admitted. "But I did feel really bad about that, but I'm also happy that the message is getting out there."

As for her mom Teresa's reaction to the backlash? Well, let's just say she's been a supportive mom, sharing red heart emojis in the comment section and offering words of encouragement.

Gia's plea to President Trump was part of a larger campaign to bring her dad back home. And while it may have sparked controversy, Gia believes it's worth fighting for - especially given the recent pardon of Todd and Julie Chrisley, who served time for tax evasion and bank fraud.

She reflected on being in the public eye - and its affect amid her mom Teresa and dad Joe's divorce and their prison sentences back in 2014; seen with mom Teresa above

"That gave me hope," Gia said. "Hope that maybe my dad could come home too. A pardon would mean more than just legal forgiveness. It would mean healing for my sisters, for my mom, for my family, and for me."

Gia's impassioned plea has sparked a heated debate on social media, with some fans defending her right to speak out while others continue to criticize her timing.

But one thing is clear: Gia Giudice isn't backing down from the drama. She's standing by her dad and fighting for what she believes in - even if it means getting a little messy along the way.

The reel showed the TV personality writing a letter to President Trump and then going to a post office to send it; seen on Sunday in New Jersey

As Gia so eloquently put it, "We're not asking for sympathy, we're asking for a second chance."

TheScholarlyNote.com has learned that Siggy Flicker, a Real Housewives of New Jersey alum and former Trump appointee to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, is actively working to help Joe Giudice secure a pardon. "I'm trying," she tweeted. "Joe should be back home with his beautiful daughters!!!!!!"

'My dad was deported over four years ago. Since then, our family has lived in an emotional limbo. No matter how strong we try to be, the absence of a father, of a parent, it's something that never stops hurting,' Gia said

In May, Todd and Julie Chrisley were notably released from prison just one day after Trump pardoned the pair; seen in 2017 in Las Vegas

Gia said, 'That gave me hope. Hope that maybe my dad could come home too. A pardon would mean more than just legal forgiveness'

Not long after she uploaded the post, the comment section was filled with both criticism and positive messages; seen in June in NYC

Joe has also been sharing his own pleas on social media and last month in June, also shared a direct post which he tagged President Trump in

He wrote, 'I know I made mistakes - but I did my time. And my family has done the time with me ever since. It's been almost ten years since I've been able to stand next to my girls in the U.S.'
