George Clooney’s Midlife ‘Crisis’ Dye: Amal’s Reaction & Broadway Success!

BOMBSHELL! George Clooney's Broadway Debut: The Good, the Bad, and the Utterly Ridiculous

In a shocking turn of events, Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney has made his Broadway debut in March, taking on the role of legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow in "Good Night, And Good Luck." But, as we've come to expect from this A-lister, even his most sincere attempts at drama can't escape a healthy dose of humor and humility.

The 64-year-old actor, who's been sporting a rather...interesting look since donning the role, had to dye his distinguished gray locks a dark brown color. And, as one would expect, his wife Amal Clooney had some thoughts on the matter. In an interview with Seth Meyers on his late-night show, George confessed that she found it "funny," but he himself joked, "She'll be glad when it's gone." We can't help but wonder what she really thinks about her husband's new look!

Now the 64-year-old A-lister has told Seth Meyers on his late night show what his wife Amal Clooney thinks of the look

But, before we get to the juicy stuff, let's give some credit where credit is due. The play, which Clooney co-wrote with his creative partner Grant Heslov (based on their 2005 film of the same name), has received rave reviews and earned a whopping five Tony Award nominations – including one for Best Actor for Clooney himself! And, in a move that's left industry insiders green with envy, it's also become the first Broadway play to gross $4 million in one week. Talk about a slam dunk!

Now, back to the really good stuff: George's hair. Or rather, his attempts at hair. As he quipped, "I may have a shaved head, I may look like Yul Brynner." Seth Meyers couldn't resist chiming in, "That might be good luck – after all, Brynner won Best Featured Actor in a Musical for 'The King And I' back in 1952!" And, just to add some extra flair, Clooney revealed that he's been wearing a hat off-stage because his hair is still a bit of a mess. "It looks great on stage," Meyers teased, "but off-stage it looks like you're trying to get away with something." To which Clooney retorted, "It's horrible! It looks like I'm going through some sort of midlife crisis...I mean, I'm 64 – I think that's a little stretch!"

But, before we leave the topic of George's hair (and Amal's potential judgment), it's worth noting that his Broadway debut hasn't been without its share of setbacks. As he dryly observed, "We have not won [the softball league]. We've been rained out the last three weeks." Ouch! And, to make matters worse, their latest loss was at the hands of none other than a team from the Harry Potter play's cast – yes, you read that right: the kids from Hogwarts are crushing it on the softball field!

The lawyer has said the hair dye job is 'funny,' but George admitted, 'She'll be glad when it's gone.'

Clooney couldn't resist poking fun at his own lack of skills, saying, "I'd like to think they were using some sort of magic." And Meyers chimed in with a witty remark: "You can protest any loss to the Potter kids!" The Oscar-winning actor and director will be looking to put these losses behind him when he hits the big screen later this year, starring alongside Adam Sandler and Laura Dern in "Jay Kelly," directed by Noah Baumbach. Mark your calendars for November 14 – we'll be there to see if George's next project is a hit or a miss!

And the star then said, 'I may have a shaved head, I may look like Yul Brynner,' though Meyers said that might be good luck, since Brynner won Best Featured Actor in a Musical in 1952 for The King And I. He also said he was wearing a hat to the interview because his hair was a mess

'I'm wearing a hat to hide my bad hair. It's bad. It's still dark on top, but it's gray on the bottom,' Clooney said

When asked about his time on the Broadway softball league, the actor admitted his team is not so great, with their latest loss to none other than Harry Potter And The Cursed Child. 'I'm batting .500 right now. But you listen, I have to be honest. We have a softball team, the Good Night, and Good Luck softball team. And we are 0-3,' he said

'We have not won. We've been rained out the last three weeks,' Clooney added, as Meyers joked, 'So, you started 0-3 and then, the weather got on your side'
