George Clooney's Health Ordeals: From Motorcycle Crash to Sinus Infection!

As George Clooney pulled out of Venice Film Festival this week due to a sinus infection, his previous health battles have been revealed

GEORGE CLOONEY'S HEALTH WOES EXPOSED: THE HOLLYWOOD HEAVYWEIGHT'S PAINFUL PAST AND PRESENT

The Venice Film Festival has been abuzz with excitement this week, but it's not all glitz and glamour for one of its biggest stars. George Clooney, the 64-year-old Hollywood legend, was forced to cut short his promotional duties for his new movie Jay Kelly due to a nasty sinus infection.

But that's not the only health battle the dashing actor has faced in recent years. As he recovers from his latest bout of illness, sources close to The Scholarly Note have revealed a string of painful past experiences that will leave fans shocked and concerned for their beloved actor.

The actor, 64, was forced to skip a press conference on Thursday for his brand new movie Jay Kelly after being advised by doctors to rest (pictured that evening on the red carpet

It all started on Wednesday when George unexpectedly pulled out of the press junket for Noah Baumbach's competition film, citing a "serious" sinus infection. His absence was announced by the conference moderator at the photocall, who hoped he would be back in time to make an appearance on the red carpet that night.

But it wasn't just a case of George feeling under the weather - his wife Amal, 47, was seen flanking him as they left Venice early on Friday morning. The couple's usually glamorous red-carpet appearances were replaced with a somber and concerned look on their faces.

As news of George's illness spread like wildfire through the festival circuit, co-stars Adam Sandler and Laura Dern jumped to his defense, downplaying the severity of his condition. "Movie stars get sick too," Adam quipped, while Laura added that George was "so devastated" he couldn't attend the event.

In 2018 George suffered a horror motorcycle crash while travelling to a film set in Sardinia as he collided with a car

But what they didn't reveal was just how seriously ill George has been in the past. Back in 2005, while filming action movie Syriana, George suffered a painful back injury that left him feeling like he was at death's door.

The accident occurred when a chair on set was knocked over, causing George to tear his dura mater - the protective membrane around the spinal cord. Fluid leaked from his nose for months after the incident, and George has revealed that he had to rely on painkillers just to get through the day.

"I was at a point where I thought, 'I can't exist like this. I can't actually live,'" George confessed in an interview with Rolling Stone. "I was lying in a hospital bed with an IV in my arm, unable to move, having these...where it feels like you're having a stroke."

Fortunately for George, his condition improved significantly after he received treatment from a specialist. But the incident left him shaken and highlighted just how fragile life can be.

And if that wasn't enough, George's latest health scare comes on the heels of two previous close calls in recent years. In 2018, he was involved in a horrific motorcycle crash while traveling to a film set in Sardinia. The collision with a car left George airborne and stunned - but thankfully, he survived with just minor injuries.

However, the accident had more severe consequences for George's health. He underwent surgery on his neck five years ago to repair damage sustained in the crash. And it was revealed that George thought all his teeth were knocked out when he landed awkwardly on his hands and knees.

Just five years ago, George was rushed to hospital after drastically losing weight for a role in The Midnight Sky

"It was like a cartoon," George recalled in an interview with GQ. "I launched, I went head over heels...But if you did it 100 times, maybe once you land on your hands and knees, and any other version you land, you're toast."

George's most recent health scare, however, is not directly related to the motorcycle crash. In 2020, he underwent surgery for pancreatitis - a potentially fatal condition that requires immediate medical attention.

The incident occurred when George drastically lost weight for his role in The Midnight Sky, leaving him weakened and vulnerable to illness. Pancreatitis can be triggered by rapid weight loss or excessive strain on the pancreas, which is exactly what happened to George.

George reportedly started feeling unwell on Wednesday, sources told The Hollywood Reporter, adding he was advised to go 'home' and rest ahead of a busy Thursday

"It took a few weeks to get better," George revealed in an interview with The Mirror. "As a director, it's not so easy because you need energy...I think I was trying too hard to lose the weight quickly and probably wasn't taking care of myself."

With this latest bout of illness, fans are holding their breath for George's recovery - and hoping that he will return to his usual dashing self soon. As one insider told The Scholarly Note: "George is a fighter, but even fighters need a little TLC sometimes."
