George Clooney Chooses Simplicity Over Stardom for His Twins
HOLLYWOOD HEAVYWEIGHT GEORGE CLOONEY EXPOSES THE DARK SIDE OF STARDOM
In a shocking revelation, George Clooney has spilled the beans on why he and his stunning wife Amal traded in the glamour of Tinseltown for a simpler life in rural France. The 64-year-old A-lister and his 47-year-old human rights lawyer wife welcomed twins Alexander and Ella in 2017, but it was three years earlier that they tied the knot, cementing their status as one of Hollywood's most power couples.
Despite being one of the biggest names in the movie industry, with a net worth of $550 million (£409M) combined, George and Amal have deliberately distanced themselves from the spotlight. They made the bold decision to leave behind the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles for a picturesque farm in France, where they now live with their eight-year-old twins.
In an explosive new interview with Esquire magazine, George revealed that his primary concern was providing his children with a "fair shake at life." He confessed: "I was worried about raising our kids in LA, in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life."
The actor pointed out that France offers a vastly different cultural landscape compared to the United States, where fame and celebrity status are often prioritized over all else. He explained: "In France, they don't give a s* about fame." This stark contrast was a major factor in their decision to leave the States.
But it's not just the culture of Hollywood that George is concerned about – he's also worried about his children's future. With the rise of social media, he fears that his kids will be bombarded with attention and scrutiny from a young age. He candidly admitted: "I'm worried about my kids; we keep them off the internet as much as we can."
And it seems George is taking drastic measures to shield his children from the pitfalls of fame. In an earlier interview with Julia Roberts for 72 Magazine, he expressed his concerns about the long-term consequences of social media on young minds: "The risks are so much bigger and the consequences follow you for so much longer." He even confessed that some of their homework is done on a computer – a stark reminder of the digital age we live in.
Despite living a life of luxury, with multiple homes around the world, George insists he's leading a "normal" life. But when asked by TheScholarlyNote.com at Monday's premiere during the New York Film Festival if he craved normalcy like his character in Jay Kelly (in which he plays a famous movie actor), he revealed: "I have normalcy. You know, I drive my kids to school every morning." However, he couldn't resist adding: "Except for this!"
When pressed about whether he felt somewhat pampered by their lifestyle, George admitted: "They didn't come to the set much. They came a couple of times. I try to keep the kids away from that experience right now." He confessed that he's not quite sure what his children would think about the glamour and trappings of Hollywood fame – and he doesn't want them to grow up thinking they're entitled to it.
The 64-year-old actor has been open about his desire for a more down-to-earth life, one where he can focus on family and values rather than the cutthroat world of celebrity culture. As he navigated the red carpet at Monday's premiere, George couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction that he'd made the right decision for his children.
But will their attempts to shield their twins from the spotlight be successful? Only time will tell. For now, it seems George and Amal are committed to giving their children a more normal, and balanced, upbringing – one that values substance over superficiality.
