Gallagher Brothers Unite: Oasis Reunion Ignites Cardiff

Liam and Noel Gallagher have finally arrived on stage at Cardiff's Principality Stadium for first night of the long-awaited Oasis reunion tour

OASIS REUNION MANIA: LIAM AND NOEL GALLAGHER UNLEASH ELECTRIC ENERGY ON CARDIFF STADIUM

It's been 16 years since Oasis last rocked out on stage together, but Friday night saw the iconic brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher reunite in a spectacular display of music, magic, and mayhem at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. The sold-out crowd of over 75,000 fans was treated to an unforgettable evening of classic Oasis tunes, emotional tributes, and some serious sibling rivalry.

As the lights went down, the anticipation was palpable, with fans donning their best bucket hats and T-shirts emblazoned with the band's iconic logo. And then, in a flash of white light, Liam and Noel strode onto the stage, looking every inch the rock gods they are. The brothers launched into "Hello," the opening track from their 1995 album "What's the Story (Morning Glory?)," and the crowd erupted into cheers and applause.

Noel arrived with his guitar, while Liam had a tambourine hanging from his teeth

But before we dive into the setlist, let's talk about the real story of the night: Noel's emotional performance of "Half the World Away." The usually stoic guitarist was visibly moved as he sang the poignant ballad, which has become a fan favorite over the years. At one point, he even stopped singing for a few bars, overcome with emotion. It was a truly heartwarming moment that left many in the crowd in tears.

Meanwhile, Liam was on top form, his distinctive swagger and charm winning over the audience from the get-go. He even managed to get the crowd jumping during "Cigarettes and Alcohol," ordering them to "turn around and bounce" like they were at a Gallagher-approved rave party.

But Oasis fans know that no reunion would be complete without some special guests. And so, it was a surprise delight when Richard Ashcroft, the lead singer of The Verve, took the stage just before Oasis began their set. Ashcroft has been a long-time friend and collaborator of the Gallaghers, and he brought his signature style and swagger to the proceedings.

They took to the stage hand-in-hand, with the crowd going wild for them

"Hey, I'm so glad to be here with the greatest rock 'n' roll band!" Ashcroft exclaimed, beaming with excitement. "When I heard Oasis were reforming, I thought I was in it!"

As the night wore on, the energy only grew more electric. The Liverpool-born indie rock band Cast paid tribute to their fellow Scouser Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away earlier this week in a car accident. Frontman John Power dedicated "Walkaway" to the beloved footballer, saying, "This one's for Diogo Jota. Take it easy, brother."

But let's get back to the music – and what a setlist it was! From classics like "Some Might Say" and "Bring It On Down," to newer fan favorites like "Fade Away," Oasis treated their adoring fans to a true greatest hits extravaganza.

More than 75,000 fans watched history be made as Noel, 58, and Liam, 52, appeared for the first time on stage together in 16 years on Friday

Backstage, it seems the Gallaghers were keeping things in the family. Noel's ex-wife Meg Mathews and daughter Anais were spotted cheering on their loved one from the front row – and looking fabulous while doing so.

Meanwhile, Liam's lookalike double, Glen, 42, was causing a stir among fans with his uncanny resemblance to the Beady Eye frontman. "I'm going to be busy all summer," he laughed, "People genuinely think I'm Liam Gallagher!"

But not everyone was there for the music – some superfans had been planning their Oasis-themed outfits and accessories months in advance! Welsh superfan Jarreth, 33, told The Scholarly Note.com that this was the biggest event of his life. "It's bigger than my wedding day," he exclaimed. "I wouldn't rather be with anyone else than my son."

The brothers put on a united front at their first show

And then there were the die-hard fans who had traveled from far and wide to catch a glimpse of Oasis in action. Luciana Barba, 44, flew all the way from Argentina to see the band perform – and spent up to $3,000 on merchandise while she was at it.

As the night drew to a close, it was clear that this reunion tour is going to be one for the ages. With sold-out shows across Europe and a whopping 900,000 fans eagerly snapping up tickets, Oasis are back where they belong: at the top of their game.
