HGTV Star Tiffany Brooks Undergoes Double Organ Transplant: A New Chapter in Her Life

In a shocking revelation, beloved HGTV star Tiffany Brooks, 46, has just undergone a life-saving double organ transplant surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The stunning news has left her fans and colleagues stunned, and we're getting an exclusive peek into her journey.

According to sources close to the TV personality, Brooks was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just six years old, a condition that would later lead to a life-threatening crisis during her pregnancy with her son in 2003. At the time, doctors warned her that once she delivered, her kidneys would rapidly deteriorate, and there was little they could do to stop it.

Miraculously, Brooks' son arrived prematurely, but her kidneys retained only 30 percent of their function. The talented designer nearly lost her life due to impaired oxygen levels, but fortunately made it to the emergency room in time for lifesaving treatment. After undergoing dialysis treatments, she received a new kidney and pancreas transplant at just 24 years old, making her one of the youngest patients in the dialysis center.

Fast forward eight years later, Brooks' body has rejected neither organ, an incredible feat that has given her a second chance at life. "For the past eight years, I have not suffered from any signs of rejection from either organ," she revealed in a heartfelt statement on Instagram.

In a poignant message, Brooks expressed her gratitude for the selfless donor who gave her a new lease on life: "I am blessed to share that I have been given another chance at life with a very special kidney and pancreas donor. I'm overcome with emotion for this amazing gift and am incredibly grateful for the gracious transplant team at Northwestern Memorial Hospital."

She said she was 'incredibly grateful' to have been 'given another chance at life' in a statement via Instagram

As news of her transplant spread, Brooks' colleagues and friends rallied around her, offering words of encouragement and support. Fellow HGTV stars Ty Pennington, Jasmine Roth, and Anthony Elle left congratulatory comments on her Instagram post, with Pennington exclaiming, "This is amazing news!" Roth added, "Thinking of you!" while Elle simply wrote, "Hallelujah!!!!!!!"

Brooks, a Chicago-based interior designer, has built an impressive career in the design world. A winner of HGTV Design Star in 2013, she went on to compete in Season 2 of Rock the Block and host several popular shows, including HGTV Dream Home and the HGTV Smart Home reiterations.

Her work has been featured in top publications, with Architectural Digest naming her one of the 20 most famous interview designers working today. Brooks' remarkable design skills have also earned her a spot on AD100 list, cementing her status as a leading figure in the world of interior design.

Though she did not reveal why she needed to undergo the transplant, she previously opened up about how her kidneys started shutting down when she was pregnant with her son in 2003

As she embarks on this new chapter in her life, Brooks is undoubtedly grateful for the second chance she's been given. With her characteristic optimism and resilience, we can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

The transplant team at Northwestern Memorial Hospital deserves our appreciation for their tireless efforts in saving Brooks' life. We're sending all our best wishes to this talented designer as she begins her recovery journey.
