From Rivals to Restaurant Partners: The Surprising Reconciliation of Arnie and Sly

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are close friends now, but there was a time where they were actually quite bitter rivals

"THE BOMBSHELL TRUTH: ARNOLD AND SYLVESTER'S TEN-YEAR FEUD"

Get ready for a juicy revelation that will leave you gagging! The unlikeliest of enemies, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, once traded barbs like they were going out of style. For over a decade, the Hollywood A-listers engaged in a very public war of words, with each trying to one-up the other.

It all started at the 1977 Golden Globe Awards, where Arnie was basking in the glory of his Best Acting Debut award for Stay Hungry. Meanwhile, Sly was gunning for the top prize for Rocky, but lost out to Arnie's gloat-fest. That's when Sly decided to take a page from Rocky's playbook and launched a 10-year battle royale against Arnie.

They ultimately became friends and co-stars in films like The Expendables franchise and Escape Plan, though he recently revealed how the feud came to an end

The trash talk didn't stop there! In a shocking revelation, Arnie confessed in 2017 that he purposefully leaked his interest in the film Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot just to get under Sly's skin. Talk about low-blow tactics!

Fast-forward to the present, and you'd think these two would still be as bitter as a pint of sour milk. But nope! It turns out their partnership in the restaurant chain Planet Hollywood was the key to burying the hatchet.

In an exclusive interview with The Scholarly Note, Arnie spilled the beans on how they finally put their differences aside. "It was Planet Hollywood," he said, with a sly grin. "I mean, we were kind of like attacking each other, doing nasty things, saying nasty things about each other and all these stupid things."

When host Andy Cohen asked how they buried the proverbial hatchet, Schwarzenegger said, 'It was Planet Hollywood. It was actually Planet Hollywood'

But what really brought them together was when Arnie's lawyer called him to propose an unlikely alliance: Sly on board for the Planet Hollywood franchise! Arnie saw an opportunity to bring their rivalry to an end and jumped at the chance. "I said, 'That's actually a good idea,' because that could bring us together, and I wanted that," he recalled.

And just like that, the feud was over! Sly even donated $15K to Arnie's campaign fund when he ran for Governor of California. Who knew their shared hatred would turn into a beautiful friendship?

Today, these two are more than just acquaintances; they're great friends and fantastic co-stars in films like The Expendables franchise and Escape Plan. It just goes to show that even the most unlikely of enemies can find common ground and become the best of pals.

'We were kind of like attacking each other, doing nasty things, saying nasty things about each other and all these stupid things,' the former California governor admitted
