From Little House to LA: Twin Actresses Share a Pioneering Journey!
SHOCKING TWIST: Little House on the Prairie Alum's Love Story Revealed
Get ready for a blast from the past as we delve into the fascinating story of Rachel Lindsay Greenbush, one half of the identical twin duo who stole our hearts as Carrie Ingalls in the beloved family show Little House on the Prairie.
As we revisit their journey to stardom and beyond, it's clear that these twins were destined for greatness. With their striking looks and undeniable chemistry, they quickly became fan favorites among audiences worldwide. But what happens when fame fades, and reality sets in? Let's find out!
The Twinning Sensations
Rachel Lindsay Greenbush, along with her identical twin sister Robyn (or Sidney, as she's also known), burst onto the scene at just three years old in a TV movie called Sunshine. Little did they know that their first taste of stardom would be just the beginning.
Their big break came when the director of Sunshine recommended them for the role of Carrie Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie, which was soon to become one of America's most beloved family shows. As fate would have it, this opportunity led to a whirlwind adventure that would see them trading places as sisters and growing up in front of millions.
The Show Must Go On
As they navigated their roles, the twins became an integral part of the Little House on the Prairie cast. They effortlessly took turns playing Carrie Ingalls, often switching positions seamlessly in between scenes. Their impressive performances earned them a special place in our hearts, especially during that iconic opening theme where Carrie trips and falls in a meadow (which, as it turns out, was originally intended to be a single take but ended up being a happy accident).
Their time on the show may have come to an end while they were still in high school, but their acting careers didn't disappear entirely. Rachel even landed a guest spot on Matt Houston, and both twins appeared in numerous commercials for top brands like Double Mint Gum, Mattel, and KFC.
The Road to Nowhere (But Eventually Happiness)
After their time in the series wrapped up, the twins made a bold decision: they decided to retire from acting so that they could focus on their education. A wise choice, indeed! Rachel graduated together with her sister from Santa Monica High in 1988 and went on to earn a degree in Accounting from California Lutheran University.
However, it seems Rachel just couldn't shake off the allure of the spotlight entirely. In 2016, she reconnected with her former co-star Alison Arngrim (who played Nellie Oleson) for a production of The Vagina Monologues – talk about a blast from the past!
Love is in the Air (and on Set)
Rachel's love story is nothing short of extraordinary. It all began when she met Danny Sanchez, who as a 14-year-old boy, would sneak onto the set just to be around the cast and crew. He lived nearby, and Michael Landon – the show's creator – was kind enough to let him stay on set as long as he didn't disrupt filming.
Fast-forward decades later (and exactly 30 years after their initial meeting), Rachel and Danny reconnected in 2007 and hit it off immediately. Their whirlwind romance eventually led to a fairytale wedding, which took place in 2014 – beneath the very tree where they first met!
But that's not all! The ceremony was held right next to Plum Creek, an iconic filming location from the show that holds so many memories for the twins and their fans.
The Rest of the Story
Rachel's sister Robyn (or Sidney), on the other hand, took a different path. She pursued a career as a sales system administrator for a residential builder and eventually married horse breeder William 'Rocky' Foster – but their marriage ended tragically when Rocky passed away just days after she filed for divorce.
It seems that even in retirement, life has its own way of unfolding. Who would have thought that these Little House on the Prairie twins would find love again years later?
A Final Note from Rachel
During a 2015 reunion on the Hallmark Channel, Rachel shared an intimate moment about how she and Danny met: 'He lived one canyon over, and so he used to sneak onto set, and because he never disrupted the set or the filming, or the schedule or anything like that, Michael used to let him stay... So, he would hang out with the crew members, and then we lost contact, and we met exactly 30 years later in 2007.'
Talk about a love story for the ages! We're so happy to see these two Little House on the Prairie alumni finding happiness together – even if it took them a while.
