Farewell to a Legend: Chris Robinson's Final Curtain Call

Veteran soap actor Chris Robinson has died at the age of 86

SOAP OPERA LEGEND CHRIS ROBINSON SHOCKS FANS WITH SUDDEN DEATH AT 86!

The TV world is reeling as news spreads like wildfire that beloved soap opera star Chris Robinson has passed away at the ripe age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of iconic roles and unforgettable performances!

According to sources close to the late actor's family, Chris peacefully passed away in his sleep on June 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at his ranch near Sedona, Arizona. The cause of death was attributed to heart failure, a condition he had been battling for some time.

The star was best known for roles as Dr Rick Webber in General Hospital and Jack Hamilton in The Bold and the Beautiful

As fans of General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful will remember, Chris Robinson was the dashing Dr. Rick Webber, a role he originated in 1978 and reprised throughout his career. He also played Jack Hamilton on B&B, bringing his signature charm to both shows!

But Chris's impact went far beyond just soap operas! He had a long and storied career in Hollywood, with credits including the cult classic Beast from Haunted Cave (1959) and the 1960s ABC drama 12 O'Clock High, where he starred alongside Burt Lancaster.

In a bizarre twist, Chris even got to star in his own commercial - a Vicks Formula 44 cough syrup ad that became a fan favorite! Who could forget the iconic tagline: "I'm not a doctor, but I do play one on TV"?

Between 1978 and 1986 he began his role of Dr Rick Webber from originator Michael Gregory on General Hospital (seen with on-screen wife Lesley Webber played by Denise Alexander)

Chris's personal life was just as fascinating as his professional career. He was married three times and had five sons from those relationships. His wife of fourteen years, artist Jacqui Shane-Robinson, survives him.

As tributes pour in for the "dear friend" and "amazing talent," fans are reminiscing about Chris's most memorable storylines - particularly his infamous love triangle with Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander) and Monica Quartermaine!

But Chris wasn't immune to controversy. In 1985, he pleaded guilty to federal income tax evasion and was allowed to continue working on General Hospital under a prison work-release provision. Talk about drama off-screen as well as on!

Chris's death comes just months after the passing of another beloved soap legend, Ron Hale (General Hospital's Mike Corbin). As fans mourn the loss of these TV icons, we can't help but wonder: what secrets will their characters reveal in their final episodes?
