Family Support Shines: Blake Lively's Sister Robyn Sends Heartfelt Tribute Amid Legal Drama
The Drama Unfolds: Blake Lively's Sister Robyn Steps Up to Support Her Amidst Justin Baldoni's $400 Million Lawsuit
In a shocking turn of events, Judge Lewis J. Liman has dismissed Justin Baldoni's $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, leaving the actress breathing a sigh of relief. But it was her sister Robyn who really stole the show with her heartfelt messages of support for Blake on social media.
As the drama unfolded, social media users began to take notice of Judge Liman's family ties to Hollywood director Doug Liman, who worked with Blake on a pro-Obama commercial back in 2008. And it was none other than Robyn, 53, who took to her Instagram stories to express her pride and love for her sister, posting a string of glowing messages alongside throwback photos of the two sisters.
"I held you then...," Robyn wrote, hugging Blake tightly in one photo. "Now," she added, sharing a more recent snap of them cuddling up together. And finally, "And always," with a picture of them holding hands in Paris. The messages were filled with love and admiration for Blake, who has been embroiled in a very public feud with Baldoni over allegations of sexual harassment.
Blake, 37, reposted her sister's messages on her own Instagram stories, responding with: "I love you more. Always. Forever. Near or far. Closer together." It was clear that the sisters were standing strong together amidst the chaos and drama surrounding Blake's lawsuit.
But social media users weren't so sure about Judge Liman's involvement in the case. "FUN FACT: the Judge that dismissed Justin Baldoni’s claims against Blake Lively is Lewis Liman, brother to Hollywood director, Doug Liman," one user pointed out. "Doug and Blake worked together years ago, small world." Others accused Lively and Reynolds of wielding influence behind the scenes, calling for Judge Liman to have recused himself.
However, many users dismissed the controversy as overblown, noting that Lively's only connection to Doug Liman was a brief appearance in a commercial nearly two decades ago. "Because his brother directed a show with thousands of actors 18 years ago, his years of being a lawyer and judge become invalid? Y’all are delusional and ridiculous," one user wrote.
As the debate raged on, Blake released a statement hours after Judge Liman's ruling, vowing to continue standing up for women's rights and speaking out against sexual harassment. "With love and gratitude for the many who stood by me, many of you I know," she said. "Many of you I don’t. But I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you."
The judge's decision came after Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment on set, allegations he denied. In her lawsuit, Blake named a number of Baldoni's collaborators, including his company Wayfarer Studios, the studio's CEO and financial backer, and PR personnel Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel.
Baldoni subsequently sued The New York Times for $250 million in a defamation claim over a December 21 article titled '"We Can Bury Anyone": Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine ;' the newspaper has denied the allegations. And on January 16, he filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and her publicist Leslie Sloane, alleging defamation and extortion.
The battle between Lively and Baldoni has been ongoing for months, with both sides trading barbs and accusations in the media. But in the end, it was Judge Liman's decision that brought the drama to a head, dismissing Baldoni's suit and paving the way for Blake to continue her advocacy work.
As theScholarlyNote.com reported earlier, Judge Liman dismissed Baldoni's suit alleging defamation and extortion on the basis that all Lively's allegations were made within privileged court papers. "The Wayfarer Parties have not alleged that Lively is responsible for any statements other than the statements in her CRD complaint, which are privileged," he wrote.
And in a surprising twist, Judge Liman gave Baldoni's team until June 23, 2025 to file a second amended complaint, but only allowing them to amend their claims of tortious interference with contract and breach of implied covenant. The judge's decision was seen as a major victory for Blake and her family.
As the drama continues to unfold, one thing is clear: Blake Lively and her sister Robyn are standing strong together against all odds. And as Robyn so eloquently put it on social media, "No one knows you quite like I do, and man am I ever proud of you. I love you sister."
