Eric Dane's Red Carpet Return: Love and Hope Amidst ALS Diagnosis
Eric Dane Walks Red Carpet with New Flame Amid ALS Battle: 'I'm Going to Ride This Till the Wheels Fall Off'
In a bold move, Eric Dane stepped out onto the red carpet for the premiere of his new Amazon Prime show, Countdown, alongside his stunning girlfriend Janell Shirtcliff. The Grey's Anatomy alum, who recently revealed his devastating diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), proved that love is still in the air - and that he's not letting his health struggles hold him back.
Dane, 52, stunned in a crisp white suit as he posed for photos with Shirtcliff, 41, looking every bit the doting couple. The two have been dating on-and-off for over three years, but it seems they're more committed than ever - especially since Dane's announcement that he'd be continuing his acting career despite his diagnosis.
When asked about his decision to keep working, Dane told Variety, "I feel good... It keeps me sharp. It keeps me moving forward, which is super important right now." And judging by his radiant smile and Shirtcliff's loving gaze, it's clear that he's found a supportive partner in his struggles.
But despite the challenges posed by ALS, Dane remains optimistic about his future. "I don't think this is the end of my story," he told Good Morning America's Diane Sawyer earlier this week. "I'm pretty resilient... I just don't feel like [this] is the end of me."
As he navigates the ups and downs of living with ALS, Dane has been open about his desire to make a difference through his platform. "I will fly to Germany and eat the head off a rattlesnake if [doctors] told me that would help," he quipped during the same Good Morning America interview. Talk about dedication!
Dane's co-star Jensen Ackles praised his courage, revealing that the actor brought a "beautiful, quiet leadership" to the set of Countdown. "That was just something that was so beneficial to the process of creating a team both on and off camera," Ackles gushed.
But what's next for Dane in the world of acting? Well, fans can catch him reprising his role as Cal Jacobs in the third season of HBO hit show Euphoria - which is produced by and starring Zendaya. And with Countdown premiering June 25 on Amazon Prime Video, it looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of Eric Dane in the coming months.
Here's to this brave actor and his new leading lady!
