Get ready, Emily in Paris fans! The wait is finally over as Netflix has announced that Season 5 will drop on December 18th, and we couldn't be more thrilled! This season promises to take the show to new heights with a new city on the horizon: Rome!
Stunning star Lily Collins, 36, will once again bring to life the lovable and quirky American Emily Cooper as she embarks on her European adventure. But this time around, Emily is trading in her Parisian charm for the Eternal City's grandeur. And from what we can gather, she's looking more loved-up than ever!
For those who may be new to the show (what's wrong with you?!), Emily In Paris follows the life and loves of Emily Cooper as she navigates a new life in Paris as a social media strategist. But this season takes it up a notch, introducing us to Rome and the Agence Grateau office.

The synopsis teases that Emily will be facing professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to her new surroundings. But just when things seem to be falling into place, disaster strikes! A work idea backfires, leaving Emily heartbroken and struggling with career setbacks.
But don't worry, folks; this is where the magic happens! Seeking stability in a new city, Emily leans into her French lifestyle (hello, croissants and wine!), only for a big secret to threaten one of her closest relationships.

The show's creator, Darren Star, spilled the tea on what fans can expect from Season 5: "This season is a Tale of Two Cities. Rome and Paris. Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level." We cannot wait!
But that's not all, folks! The cast has been busy filming in Venice, and we've got the scoop on what they're up to. According to local reports, an open casting call went out for 500 extras with a very specific requirement: be "beautiful" and have a lean physique (size 38-42). Sounds like a tall order, but who wouldn't want to be part of this fabulous crew?!
Lily Collins gave us a sneak peek into the cast's antics in Venice over the weekend. She Instagrammed adorable pics of herself rocking a tomato-print sundress on a water taxi ride through the city's famous canals. "A very Venetian getaway," she captioned it, clearly getting into character.
ROMANCE ALERT!
As we mentioned earlier, this season will see Emily take a romantic trip to Venice with the dashing Marcello Muratori (played by Eugenio Franceschini). We can't help but ship these two!
Filming locations for Season 5 include some of Venice's most stunning landmarks: Hotel San Daniele, Santi Giovanni and Paolo basilica, and the breathtaking Grand Canal. We're already planning our own Venetian getaway (minus the casting call requirements, of course).
