Emily Blunt's Bold New Red: First Look on 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' Set

Emily Blunt cut and dyed her brunette locks a ravishing red in her first sighting on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in Manhattan's West Side on Tuesday

EMILY BLUNT GOES FROM BRUNETTE TO BOMBSHELL: DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2 SIGHTING IN MANHATTAN!

The one and only Emily Blunt has traded in her signature brunette locks for a ravishing red 'do, sending shockwaves through the fashion world. The 42-year-old British bombshell was spotted on set of the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 hit film, The Devil Wears Prada 2, in Manhattan's trendy West Side.

But that's not all - Blunt's character, Emily Charlton, is getting a major makeover for the new installment. Gone are her deep burgundy locks of yesteryear; instead, she'll be rocking a bold, fire-engine red 'do that's sure to turn heads on screen and off. Insiders claim the new look was inspired by none other than supermodel Plum Sykes, who served as the muse for Blunt's character.

The British 42-year-old had a deeper burgundy shade when she originated the role of Emily Charlton, the beleaguered senior assistant of Runway Magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) in the 2006 film

But what about Miranda Priestly, the infamous editor-in-chief of Runway Magazine? Don't worry, Meryl Streep fans - the 76-year-old Oscar winner is back and looking better than ever. Spotted on set wearing a chic white short wig, grey skirt suit, and pumps, Streep was trailed by Blunt, who was dressed to impress in a black three-piece suit.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been a long time coming, with production finally underway on June 30. And judging from the buzz on set, it's going to be a wild ride. Sources close to the project claim that the sequel will delve into the world of advertising and the decline of print media, with Miranda Priestly facing off against her former protégée, Emily Charlton.

But what about Andy Sachs, the plucky young journalist who first caught our eye in the original film? Unfortunately, Anne Hathaway is not reprising her role for this installment. Instead, a new cast of characters will be joining the fray, including Justin Theroux, Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Rachel Bloom, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet.

Emily exited the 50 Hudson Yards building wearing a white Dior blouse beneath a black pinstripe corseted top, matching wide-leg trousers, and pumps selected by costume designer Molly Rogers

In an exclusive interview with ET last month, Blunt gushed about her return to the world of Miranda Priestly: "20 years ago! In a week it's gone by!" She also dished on her working relationship with Streep, saying "We always have, like, beef with each other. I don't know what it is. Let's hope we remedy it."

But one person who won't be appearing in the sequel is Adrian Grenier, Andy Sachs' original leading man. Instead, Blunt has hinted that her husband, John Krasinski, might make a cameo appearance - much to the delight of their daughters, Hazel and Violet.

Speaking of Krasinski, the couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on July 10 in style. And while they're still keeping things private, we can't help but wonder if Emily will give her husband a shout-out on screen (after all, he's a huge fan of the original film).

It marks the second time Rogers replaced her Oscar-nominated mentor Patricia Field on a high-profile project following HBO Max's Sex and the City continuation, And Just Like That

But first, fans will get to see Blunt shine in another high-profile role - as recovering alcoholic Dawn Staples in Mark Kerr biopic The Smashing Machine, which hits US/UK theaters on October 3. She'll be joined by none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

And that's not all - the two-time SAG Award winner has a slew of upcoming projects on the horizon, including Martin Scorsese's untitled Hawaiian crime drama for 20th Century Studios and Steven Spielberg's untitled sci-fi flick for Universal Pictures. Stay tuned, folks - it's going to be a wild ride!
