ELTON JOHN REVEALS BIZARRE REQUEST TO SURGEON: "I WANT MY KNEE CAP AS A NECKLACE!"

Sir Elton John, the 78-year-old music legend, has stunned fans with a bizarre confession in his documentary, Touched By Gold. In a shocking revelation, Elton revealed that he made an unexpected request to his doctor before undergoing surgery: he wanted to keep his old kneecap as a piece of jewelry!

The musician, known for his extravagant style and flamboyant personality, had both knees replaced in recent years due to severe wear and tear. His right hip was also replaced after a fall forced him to postpone his farewell tour in 2021. But what's truly remarkable is Elton's eccentric request to his surgeon: "Can I keep my old kneecap?"

The musician, 78, has had both knees replaced and explained how he turned his old kneecap into a piece of jewellery with the help of designer Theo Fennell (pictured in October)

According to the documentary, Elton's doctor was left "startled" by the unusual request. However, being the accommodating professional he is, the surgeon agreed to let Elton take home his old kneecap. But that wasn't the end of it - the musical genius wanted to create something truly unique and special from his discarded body part.

Enter designer Theo Fennell, who helped Elton transform his kneecap into a stunning piece of jewelry. In an interview with The Scholarly Note.com, Fennell revealed the process behind creating this extraordinary necklace: "We had to bake the kneecap to dry it out, then it got raw like pumice stone. We painted it with acetate and polished it up." Fennell also added that Elton's surgeon told him he'd never seen a knee cap as worn out as Elton's - a testament to his years of touring and performing.

The result is a one-of-a-kind necklace that looks eerily like an ancient Egyptian artifact. Theo Fennell even inscribed the words "I will no longer bow to any man" on the back, much to Elton's delight (and surprise). As for the missing kneecap? Well, it's a conversation starter, isn't it?

Joining Theo, Elton discussed the process and admitted that the necklace looks a bit like an 'old artifact from Egypt'

But this is not the first time Elton has made headlines with his unique approach to life. In October 2023, he stunned audiences at the American Express Gala during the London Film Festival by wearing his kneecap necklace to the premiere of his biopic, Never Too Late.

At a recent screening in NYC, Elton quipped: "To be honest with you, there's not much of me left." Indeed, Elton has had quite a few parts removed over the years - he's no longer got tonsils, adenoids, an appendix, or even a right hip and knee (on either side!). But despite these medical setbacks, the music icon remains full of life and spirit. As he told the audience: "The only thing left to me is my left hip... but I'm still here, thank goodness!"

However, Elton's been facing some health challenges lately - a severe eye infection has left him with limited vision in one eye. In an Instagram post, he revealed that he's been recovering at home over the summer: "I am healing, but it's an extremely slow process... I am so grateful for my team of doctors and nurses, as well as my family, who have taken such good care of me."

Despite his health issues, Elton still has a spark in him. He even performed at his star-studded Oscar party in March 2023 - proof that this music legend isn't done just yet!
