Ellen DeGeneres Eyeing a Career Comeback from the Cotswolds

Ellen DeGeneres has hinted that she would like to revive her career because she's 'a bit bored' in the English countryside. The 67-year-old TV host's long-running series The Ellen DeGeneres Show ended in 2022

Ellen DeGeneres Spills Tea: Ready to Revive Career, but First, She's Considering Tying the Knot Again... in the UK!

The Queen of Daytime TV is back, baby! Ellen DeGeneres has hinted that she's ready to revive her career after a two-year hiatus following the end of her iconic talk show. But first, she's got some major life updates to share with us - including a potential wedding bells moment in the UK!

At 67, Ellen has been keeping busy with her new life in the English countryside, where she and wife Portia de Rossi have been raising their menagerie of farm animals (yes, you read that right - horses, sheep, and chickens are now part of their daily routine). While she's loving the quiet life, Ellen confessed to being a teensy bit bored. Who can blame her? After all those years of bringing joy and laughter to millions through her show, it's only natural to crave something new and exciting.

Now living in the UK countryside with her wife Portia de Rossi after they moved to the Cotswolds from California in November. Ellen revealed she's busy looking after her menagerie of farm animals which includes horses, sheep and chickens, but she's also thinking about what to do next

Speaking at an intimate event with TV presenter Richard Bacon at Cheltenham's Everyman theatre (because even celebrities like their privacy), Ellen dished about the possibility of reviving her talk show format in the UK. "I wish it worked here," she said, "because I would do the same thing here." But before we get our hopes up, Ellen emphasized that she'd need to be very careful with her next move, wanting to make sure it's something fun and fulfilling.

Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room - those pesky allegations about a "toxic" atmosphere on set. Yeah, we know, it was a whole big deal back then, but Ellen is determined not to be defined by that controversy. She wants to move forward and leave her reputation as "mean" behind: "I'm an empathetic, compassionate person," she insisted. We believe you, Ellen!

But wait, there's more! Ellen also opened up about the possibility of getting remarried in the UK - yes, you read that right again! It seems that if same-sex marriage is overturned in the US (which, let's hope doesn't happen), Ellen and Portia will tie the knot once more, this time in the UK. Talk about making the most of a situation!

Speaking to TV presenter Richard Bacon during her In Conversation with Ellen DeGeneres event at Cheltenham's Everyman theatre, Ellen explained: 'I mean, I wish it [the talk show format worked], because I would do the same thing here [in the UK]. I would love to do that again'

So, what inspired their move to the Cotswolds? Well, it wasn't exactly a warm and fuzzy feeling that led them to leave California for the UK... it was actually the re-election of President Donald Trump in 2024! Who knew that being part of a more tolerant society would be so appealing?

In an enlightening conversation with Bacon, Ellen expressed her sadness about the lack of acceptance and understanding when it comes to people's sexualities. She wishes we lived in a world where everyone could just be themselves without fear of judgment or persecution.

And finally, because we love a good scoop, Ellen confirmed that she and Portia did indeed move to the UK to escape the Republican Party-led country (yikes!). It seems they found their little slice of heaven in the English countryside, where everything is "just better."

She added, 'I just feel like people are watching on their phones, or people aren't really paying attention as much to televisions, because we're so inundated with with information and entertainment'; seen in 2023

Stay tuned for more updates on Ellen's next moves - will it be a new TV show, or something entirely different? We're keeping our eyes and ears open!
