Dree Hemingway Channels Daryl Hannah in FX's JFK Jr. Love Story!
EXCLUSIVE: John F. Kennedy Jr.'s Scandalous Ex, Hannah, Spotted on Set of FX's American Love Story - But Is It a Re-Creation of Iconic Wedding?
TheScholarlyNote.com has obtained explosive new photos from the set of Ryan Murphy's highly anticipated drama series, American Love Story, which seemingly confirms that none other than Dree Hemingway, great-granddaughter of literary legend Ernest Hemingway and daughter of actress Mariel Hemingway, has been cast as Hannah - one of John F. Kennedy Jr.'s most iconic exes.
The 32-year-old actress was spotted filming alongside Paul Kelly, who plays JFK Jr., in what appeared to be a romantic date scene in the Big Apple on Tuesday. And let's just say, Hemingway's wardrobe choices are already raising eyebrows - and not just because they're eerily similar to those worn by Hannah at the infamous 1993 wedding of JFK Jr.'s cousin Edward Kennedy Jr.
Hemingway was seen donning a brown dress with unique patterns that bears an uncanny resemblance to the one Hannah wore to the Rhode Island nuptials, where she and JFK Jr. rekindled their romance five years prior. The actress completed her look with a matching light brown coat, brown sunglasses, and a small brown purse - not to mention her luscious blonde locks flowing in the wind.
But what's got everyone talking is Hemingway's apparent on-set chemistry with Kelly, who played JFK Jr. with eerie accuracy. The two were spotted locking lips between takes, fueling speculation about the show's take on their tumultuous relationship.
Now, we know what you're thinking - is American Love Story planning to recreate the 1993 wedding that marked the beginning of the end for JFK Jr. and Hannah? Or are these scenes from a different point in their tumultuous romance? Unfortunately, the answer remains unclear, but one thing's for sure: Murphy has his work cut out for him trying to win over fans who are already bashing the show's wardrobe choices.
In fact, just last week, the creator himself responded to criticism by pointing out that critics were doing the same thing to actress Sarah Paulson's character, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy - essentially, they're rewriting history. "They're doing to our Carolyn what they did to the real-life Carolyn," Murphy told Variety. "It's not fair."
With a cast that also includes Sarah Pidgeon as Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, Naomi Watts as Jackie Kennedy, Grace Gummer as Caroline Kennedy, Alessandro Nivola as Calvin Klein (who worked with Carolyn), Leila George as Kelly Klein, Sydney Lemmon as Lauren Bergen (Caroline's sister), and Noah Fearnley as Michael Bergen (Caroline's ex), it's clear that American Love Story is going all out to bring the drama - and romance - of JFK Jr.'s life to the small screen.
