Drama Unfolds: Cheryl Hines vs. Sunny Hostin on The View!

The View's Sara Haines has weighed in on Cheryl Hines' dramatic appearance on the show

THE VIEW DRAMA: SARA HAINES DEFENDS CHERYL HINES AFTER EXPLOSIVE CLASH WITH SUNNY HOSTIN OVER ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR.'S MEDICAL CREDENTIALS

The tables turned on The View yesterday when Cheryl Hines, wife of anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr., appeared as a guest and got into a heated exchange with co-host Sunny Hostin over her husband's qualifications to serve as Health Secretary.

But in a surprising twist, Sara Haines, a former permanent host of the show, has come out in defense of Cheryl, praising her for being "brilliant" and "fearless" in the face of tough questioning. The drama went down on Tuesday's episode when Sunny grilled Cheryl about her husband's medical expertise, calling him the "least qualified Department of Health and Human Services head that we've had in history."

Actress Cheryl fiercly defended her husband RFK Jr during her appearance on Tuesday

Cheryl, a 60-year-old actress known for her role in Curb Your Enthusiasm, shot back at Sunny, pointing out her husband's impressive track record of taking on big corporations over health concerns. "He has dedicated his career to suing big corporations because of toxins that have been affecting people's health... He was part of the team that sued Monsanto because of Roundup, a pesticide that was causing cancer," she said.

But Sunny wasn't having it, retorting that RFK Jr.'s lack of credentials made him a bad fit for the job. "I think he is less qualified than an economist," she quipped, leaving Cheryl visibly frustrated.

As the exchange escalated, with both women talking over each other and raising their voices, it seemed like things might get out of hand. But in a surprising turn of events, Cheryl's comedic sense kicked in, and she began to joke about the situation, easing the tension.

Cheryl went head-to-head with Sunny Hostin, who called into question RFK Jr's medical background

Sara Haines, who has been following the drama from behind the scenes, took to her Behind the Table podcast yesterday to weigh in on the controversy. "I think she did a great job," Sara said of Cheryl. "I mean, she was coming to a table where her husband has been a hot topic for a long time, and so I commended her for just showing up."

But Sara also acknowledged that hosting guests with opposing views can be tricky, especially when it comes to sensitive topics like medical expertise. "Our job is not to tell people how to feel," she explained. "It's not to invite people to our table and slam dunk them verbally. It's to be curious and to open up conversations and views that we can talk about and debate."

Sara also pointed out the importance of inviting guests with different viewpoints, even if they might not see eye-to-eye on every issue. "We want people at our table," she said. "We want people with different views at our table, and there's points where you're in a group and you watch things getting tense then you try and keep the balance of what the producers' intentions were which is to cover a lot of stuff."

'I commended her for just showing up,' Sara said as she addressed Cheryl's appearance

And it seems like Sara might be onto something, as Cheryl's appearance on The View has sparked a national conversation about medical expertise and qualifications. But whether or not RFK Jr.'s credentials are sufficient for the job remains to be seen.

In related news, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made headlines last week when he linked circumcision to an increased risk of autism in boys who underwent the procedure as infants. However, health officials have since clarified that there is no causal relationship between the two.

The controversy surrounding RFK Jr.'s comments has raised questions about his fitness for office, with some calling for him to be removed from his position as Health Secretary.

Cheryl's husband RFK Jr has been the US Secretary of Health and Human Services since February

As the drama continues to unfold, one thing is clear: this isn't just a debate about medical expertise – it's a battle over who gets to set the agenda on health policy in America. Stay tuned!
