DOLPH LUNDGREN: FROM CANCER WARRIOR TO BAFTA PARTY CRASHER

In a shocking turn of events, action movie legend Dolph Lundgren has revealed that he's not only beat cancer for the second time but is now feeling "very well" and back to his old self. The 67-year-old Swedish hunk, known for his bulging biceps and tough-guy persona, made headlines in 2023 when he went public with his private eight-year battle against the disease.

Lundgren's cancer journey began in 2015 when he received a lung cancer diagnosis. But after beating it into remission once, the illness returned in 2020 with a vengeance - and one doctor even gave him a grim prognosis of just two to three years left to live! Talk about a wake-up call.

He spoke to a camera in the hospital following an operation, saying surgeons 'took out one tumor, then they took out another two they found and another three small ones'

But Lundgren didn't take this news lying down. He opted for a second opinion and began treatment, which ultimately led to his cancer going into remission once again. And what did he have to say about it? "It feels good," he beamed at the BAFTA TV Tea Party at The Maybourne Beverly Hills over the weekend.

The Punisher actor revealed that his grueling exercise regimen is now a thing of the past, but he's still hitting the gym four to five times a week. "I've calmed down a little bit," he said with a chuckle. "I don't stay out as late. I don't work out as hard." But make no mistake - Lundgren is still the tough guy we know and love.

The Stockholm native has been open about his experience, crediting cancer with being a "big eye-opener" that's made him appreciate life even more. "I'm grateful for everything I have and everyone in my life," he said warmly. And who wouldn't be? The man has two beautiful daughters, Ida and Greta, from his first marriage to Anette Qviberg, and a gorgeous wife, Emma Krokdal, whom he married in 2023.

Lundgren, who shot to fame in Rocky IV as the title character's Soviet rival Ivan Drago (pictured), said: 'I am just a little kinder to myself physically, I think'

But what's behind Lundgren's cancer battle? Could it have something to do with the steroids he took during his bodybuilding days? He's not ruling out that possibility. "I tried steroids back in the 80s, 90s," he confessed on Graham Bensinger's podcast. "I don't know if that is something to do with the cancer... but it struck me as it could have something to do with it."

Lundgren's candid conversation about his experience has left many wondering about the long-term effects of performance-enhancing substances. But for now, he's just focusing on living life to the fullest.

And what does the future hold for this action movie legend? With cancer behind him, Lundgren is ready to take on whatever comes next. "I'm back to normal," he grinned at People. "Working out, enjoying life... I feel very well."

A CAUTIONARY TALE

Lundgren's experience serves as a stark reminder that cancer can strike anyone, anywhere. But it also shows us the importance of seeking second opinions and never giving up on treatment.

As Lundgren reflected on his journey, he acknowledged that cancer had been "a positive experience" for him - something that may sound counterintuitive to many. "If I hadn't had cancer, I may have done a crazy stunt and killed myself," he mused. Talk about a wake-up call!

In the end, it's clear that Lundgren has emerged from his battle with cancer stronger and wiser than ever. And who knows? Maybe this is just the beginning of an even more exciting chapter in his life.

A HEALTHY DOSE OF REALITY

Lundgren's story also highlights the importance of self-care and taking care of one's physical and mental health. "I try to really enjoy the people I love," he said simply. And isn't that what it's all about?

As Lundgren looks back on his journey, he's grateful for every moment - good or bad. "Every day, I'm more grateful for everything I have and everything the universe has given me," he said with sincerity.

And who can argue with that?
