Doechii Stands Firm: Calling Out Trump During BET Awards and Striking Vogue Shoot

Doechii has declared she was 'right' to call out President Donald Trump for his protests crackdown, after being praised by fans for her impassioned speech at the BET Awards

SCANDALOUS! Doechii Declares She Was Right to Call Out Trump's Crackdown on Protests, Despite Backlash

The drama never ends for rising star Doechii, who has just dropped a bombshell interview with British Vogue that will leave you speechless!

In the explosive chat, the 26-year-old rapper reveals she was "right" to call out President Donald Trump's controversial response to mass deportations and ICE raids during her impassioned speech at the BET Awards. And, honey, she's not backing down from anyone!

The rapper used her acceptance speech at the ceremony to addressing the protests in downtown Los Angeles over mass deportations and ICE raids

STANDING UP FOR WHAT'S RIGHT Doechii used her acceptance speech for Best Female Hip Hop Artist to address the unrest outside the venue, calling out Trump's deployment of the National Guard against protesters. "I want you all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us," she said.

But, what really got our attention was her unapologetic defense of her decision to speak out against Trump's actions. When asked if she felt pressured to use her platform, Doechii shot back, "I'm not that desensitised, and it felt right. I felt like I needed to use that moment, and they were live, so it wasn't something they could do about it."

FASHION POWERHOUSE And, speaking of moments, Doechii stunned in a dramatic sheer beaded gown and a fun orange feathered mini dress for her British Vogue photo shoot. We're talking red-carpet ready, people!

Speaking to British Vogue , Doechii said: 'I'm not that desensitised, and it felt right. I felt like I needed to use that moment, and they were live, so it wasn't s**t they could do about it'

But, let's get back to the drama. Earlier this year, Doechii faced backlash after a viral video appeared to show her being rude to her assistants as she prepared for her Met Gala debut. The clip showed her shouting at her team to bring her more umbrellas, saying "Give me another umbrella, now!" and "And another, go!"

Some social media users slammed the artist for her "attitude," but others came to her defense, pointing out that she was probably just under pressure and stressed.

SUPERSTAR IN THE MAKING In the British Vogue interview, Doechii also opened up about her goals as an artist. She wants to preserve the roots of hip-hop while making it digestible for a new generation of fans. "I want to do it in a way that's digestible for drunk kids at a festival," she said.

The hitmaker also posed for an eye-catching shoot with the publication, as she graced the cover of British Vogue's August issue

And, if you thought Lady Gaga's praise meant nothing, think again! The pop superstar told British Vogue, "You don't often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That's Doechii to me."

WHAT'S NEXT FOR DOECHII? So, what's next for this fiery star? She's still figuring it out, but we're excited to see what she has in store for us. After all, as she said herself, "I have no clue I'm still figuring it out."
