EXCLUSIVE: Denise Richards Spills Tea on Charlie Sheen's Shocking Struggles with Addiction

The drama, the glamour, and the unfiltered honesty - it's all coming out now in the latest episodes of Charlie Sheen's Netflix documentary aka, Charlie! And we've got the juiciest scoop from an insider who knows him best: his ex-wife Denise Richards. In a candid conversation that's left fans speechless, Richards dished on her troubled past with Sheen and how she played a crucial role in keeping him alive during his darkest days.

Richards, 54, opened up about the tumultuous time when Sheen was struggling with addiction, revealing the shocking extent of his behavior. "They would call me all the f*ing time to go there because I can't get fired," she bluntly told him on camera. "I was your ex-wife, I was already fired." The star's former spouse didn't mince words about the chaos that surrounded her ex-husband during those days.

Richards received a call after Sheen had not turned up on the set of Two and a Half Men, and when star Jon Cryer, 60 turned up at Sheen's house, he found her making sandwiches for Sheen and the prostitutes Sheen had hired

In one particularly harrowing incident, Richards revealed how she had to intervene when Sheen went MIA for two days while filming Two and a Half Men. "When they were desperate, they were like, 'Could you please come over and see if he's alive? We haven't seen him for two days,'" she recalled. The drama queen that she is, Richards pounded on the door until it was opened, demanding to know what was going on inside.

But the most jaw-dropping part of the conversation came when Richards revealed how she would regularly cook food for Sheen - and his prostitutes! "I'd make sandwiches and [Jon Cryer] would come over, and he'd be like, 'What are you doing?'" she recalled. "And I'm like, 'Well, he hasn't eaten, so I'm making him some sandwiches.' And then the girls would come down, and Jon would be all nervous and ask me if I was making them sandwiches too."

Richards' response was as sassy as it gets: "Well, yeah. What am I gonna say? Sorry, because of what you do for a living, you don't get one of my white trash mayo, mustard, turkey, cheese, lettuce sandwiches?" The actress - who shares daughters Sami and Lola with Sheen - explained that she was just trying to help keep her ex-husband alive during those dark times. "It wasn't like I was making a gourmet sandwich," she emphasized. "I'm trying to help keep him good."

'I remember Jon asking me,

But what's truly shocking is how Richards compared Sheen's condition during that period to the infamous dead body from Weekend At Bernie's. Those around the actor would just prop him up, literally and figuratively, to get him to sign autographs or make appearances - all for their own financial gain.

This isn't the first time we've heard about Sheen's struggles with addiction. The Wall Street star married his third wife, Brooke Mueller, in 2008 and welcomed twins Bob and Max a year later. However, both relapsed soon after and began using again. Their messy split led to Mueller losing custody of their boys at just four years old, who were subsequently placed with Richards for over a year.

As the situation escalated, Richards started noticing that Sheen was "really sick." When she confronted him about getting tested for HIV, he brushed it off - until his diagnosis in 2015. The actor admitted to being relieved by the news because, at least then, there were treatments available to manage the condition.

But what's most heartening is how both Sheen and Richards have since reconciled with their sons, who now live with them as Mueller works on her sobriety. And speaking of reunions, the ex-couple has remained on good terms - even supporting each other at public events like the premier of aka Charlie in Los Angeles last September.

In a sweet display of solidarity, Sheen also made an appearance on Richards' reality show Denise Richards and Her Wild Things on Bravo, proving that their complicated past is now well behind them.
