Decade-Long Drama: Scheana Shay Accuses Lisa Vanderpump of Gaslighting to Build a TV Empire
Scheana Shay Spills the Tea: Lisa Vanderpump Gaslighted Me for Decades, Claims New Memoir
In a shocking revelation that's left fans of Bravo's hit reality show "Vanderpump Rules" stunned, Scheana Shay has accused her former boss and mentor, Lisa Vanderpump, of gaslighting her for over a decade. The drama-filled memoir, titled "My Good Side," is set to be released on July 22, and promises to spill all the tea on Scheana's tumultuous relationship with the queen of reality TV.
Scheana, 40, has been a mainstay on the Bravo series since its inception in 2013. However, it seems that her seemingly idyllic working relationship with Vanderpump was actually riddled with manipulation and deceit. In a new cover story for Us Weekly, Scheana opens up about the alleged gaslighting, claiming that Vanderpump purposefully put her and fellow "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Brandi Glanville together on screen to launch her own TV empire.
"I vividly remember when photos leaked of Eddie and I, there was a magazine being passed around the kitchen at Villa Blanca," Scheana revealed. "She gaslit me about it for a decade instead of just coming to me in the beginning. She doesn't make mistakes; she makes moves and then calls them coincidences."
But that's not all - Scheana also claims that Vanderpump knew more about her 2006 affair with Eddie Cibrian than she initially disclosed. "We all saw it play out on the show when I went up to her and she acts shocked that I was working her party with this guy's ex-wife who I used to date because I didn't know he was married," Scheana explained.
As fans of the show will recall, Scheana's affair with Cibrian made headlines back in 2006. The former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star was still married to Brandi Glanville at the time, and his subsequent divorce from her in 2010 led to a very public fallout.
Scheana also gets candid about her own personal struggles, including her highly publicized affair with Cibrian. In an excerpt from her memoir obtained by The Scholarly Note, Scheana admits that she was younger and more naive when she first met the actor, who was already married at the time.
"I never noticed a single red flag," she writes. "I had just moved to Los Angeles in May of 2006 after graduating from Azusa Pacific University... I hoped to make a name for myself in the entertainment industry, whether that was as an actress, a TV host, or a news reporter."
Scheana's memoir promises to be a juicy tell-all, with Scheana dishing on everything from her tumultuous relationship with Vanderpump to her own personal struggles. And it seems that she's not holding back - despite Vanderpump's attempts to downplay the drama.
In an interview with The Scholarly Note, Scheana expressed her disappointment in Vanderpump's lack of transparency throughout their working relationship. "I've always admired her," she said. "Now I'm like, 'Did I admire her out of fear?' I guess I would've just liked to have agency in my own story."
As the drama continues to unfold, fans are left wondering what other secrets Scheana will reveal in her memoir. Will Vanderpump respond with a counter-attack? Only time will tell.
The Scholarly Note has reached out to reps for both Scheana Shay and Lisa Vanderpump for comment.
