Dax Shepard's 'Screaming' Support for Kristen Bell’s Steamy Kiss Scene!
EXCLUSIVE! Kristen Bell Spills on Husband Dax Shepard's Sizzling Reaction to Her On-Screen Kiss with Adam Brody
In a juicy revelation, Kristen Bell revealed that her hubby Dax Shepard was absolutely obsessed with her iconic kiss scene with Adam Brody in the Netflix hit series "Nobody Wants This". The 45-year-old actress spilled the tea at the inaugural Televerse event in Los Angeles on Friday, sharing that even from miles away, Shepard couldn't get enough of the romantic moment.
As Bell spoke to the audience, she got a little emotional and giggly, recalling how her husband was on an off-roading trip when the show's first season dropped. Despite being far away, Shepard made sure to send his wife a voice memo, which included cheers from his buddies in the background and what sounded like screams of excitement.
Over the music from the kiss scene, Bell joked that her husband's reaction said it all about how invested he was in the fictional couple's romance. "It was like he was right there with me on set!" she exclaimed. The actress revealed that Shepard even celebrated the kiss scene with his friends, no doubt fueling their excitement and curiosity.
For those who may not know, the kiss between Bell's character Joanne and Brody's Noah is a pivotal moment in the show. In an interview with thescholarlynote.com, creator and writer Jen Foster explained that the script described it as "the world's greatest kiss", which added to the pressure on both actors.
Bell revealed that she and Brody were determined to make the kiss scene sizzle, and they did just that. The actress joked that each take came with "max pressure" but they managed to nail it every time. According to Foster, the script was written in a way that would give the audience a sense of passion and comfort between the two characters.
When asked about the inspiration behind writing such a romantic scene, Foster confessed that she sometimes struggles with describing intimate moments on paper. "I don't know how to say... he sweeps his hands through her hair and she locks eyes," she laughed, admitting it sounds like "romance novel lingo". However, Foster explained that there was definitely strategy behind the kiss.
"It was designed to anchor the story," Foster said. "As women, we want to show healthy relationships in our stories, especially when it comes to romance." The writer emphasized the importance of depicting relationships that are supportive and respectful, rather than focusing on drama or manipulation.
The show's creator also touched on the theme of relationships moving into more mature territory. As season two approaches, Joanne and Noah will be facing new challenges, including discussions about family and cohabitation.
"Joanne and Noah are at a place in their relationship where they're asking each other different questions," Foster shared. "Everyone's been through the initial excitement of dating, but now they're thinking about deeper stuff like meeting each other's families or living together."
In related news, Jackie Tohn, who plays Esther (married to Noah's older brother Sasha), teased that her character is undergoing a significant transformation in season two. According to Tohn, Esther will be embracing joy and letting go of "self-imposed bad times", echoing the themes explored by Joanne and Noah.
The show's creators clearly know how to craft relationships that resonate with audiences, and it seems they've got fans eagerly waiting for more. With a second season set to drop on October 23, 2025, viewers can expect even more sizzling romance and drama from "Nobody Wants This". Stay tuned!
