David Tennant's Shocking Injury on Set: 'Embarrassed and On the Floor!'
DAVID TENNANT SHAKES HIS HEAD OVER "EMBARRASSING" INJURY ON RIVALS SET
David Tennant, the 54-year-old Scottish actor known for his dashing good looks and charming on-screen presence, has revealed a rather embarrassing incident that left him feeling red-faced during filming for the hit Disney+ series Rivals.
The actor, who plays the role of Tony, Lord Baddingham, appeared on This Morning alongside Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley to chat about his new drama, The Hack. However, things took an unexpected turn when Ben pointed out that David's character had been getting up to all sorts of mischief in the first series.
"Is it true you had an accident filming one of those sex scenes?" Ben asked with a sly grin.
David blushed and laughed nervously before revealing the rather gruesome details. "Yes, I did have an accident," he admitted. "I was trying to launch myself onto a wooden bed, but unfortunately, my knee collided with the bed frame in a rather unfortunate way."
The incident left David feeling embarrassed and dazed on the floor – not exactly the most romantic or sexy moment, as he himself joked.
"I mean, you can never quite tell when you're going to fall over and embarrass yourself," David chuckled. "But you certainly don't want to do it when you're wearing a modesty pouch!"
It seems that even actors with decades of experience in the industry are not immune to the occasional mishap on set.
Rivals, based on Jilly Cooper's novel of the same name, has been a huge hit for Disney+, and fans are eagerly awaiting the second series. The show is set in 1986 Britain, where the world of TV is as cutthroat as it is seductive.
As the synopsis reveals: "Deals are brokered in boardrooms, as well as bedrooms. Nobody can be sure who will come out on top."
The series boasts an all-star cast, including Aidan Turner, Victoria Smurfit, Nafessa Williams, and Rufus Jones. But it's not just the show's plot that has fans buzzing – behind-the-scenes gossip is also making waves.
Back in May, it was announced that Rivals would be returning for a second series after its massive success last year. And now, with filming already underway, fans can expect even more drama and tension as the characters' personal and professional rivalries come to a head.
But who's joining the cast? Well, rumor has it that none other than Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett are set to bring some Hollywood glamour to the series in their roles as Helen Gordon and show-jumping coach Malise Gordon. That's right – expect even more sizzling drama from these two screen legends!
And what about the fate of Lord Baddingham, who was left for dead at the end of season one? Fear not, fans! David Tennant will be reprising his role in the upcoming second series, along with a host of other familiar faces.
But we're most excited to see Nafessa Williams and Aidan Turner back on screen as Cameron Cook and Declan O'Hara. And don't even get us started on Emily Atack's sassy return as Sarah Stratton!
The first look at season two has already been released, with behind-the-scenes images showcasing the intense showdowns that await fans.
As Nafessa Williams and Aidan Turner faced off in a tense confrontation, we couldn't help but wonder – what drama will this new series bring? And will David Tennant's character make it out alive?
