The dashing 57-year-old James Bond actor, Daniel Craig, has stunned fans with a dramatic new hairdo as he joined his glamorous co-stars at the highly-anticipated premiere of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The movie mogul, who has been playing the iconic role of Benoit Blanc since 2019, traded in his sleek silver locks for a wild and voluminous look that left onlookers speechless.
The dashing Daniel arrived at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in London, where the BFI London Film Festival was being held, with his new 'do, which perfectly complemented his grey tweed double-breasted suit, light blue shirt, and striking red striped tie. He was accompanied by his co-stars, including Mila Kunis, 42, Kerry Washington, 48, and acting legend Glenn Close, who all turned heads on the crimson carpet.
Mila stunned in a show-stopping black beaded strapless gown with a bejewelled bodice and a flowing satin balloon skirt. Meanwhile, Kerry looked absolutely sensational in a figure-hugging silver mirror sequin strapless gown that hugged her curves in all the right places. Glenn Close, on the other hand, opted for a chic black and silver sequin dogtooth patterned harem jumpsuit, paired with velvet elbow-length gloves, open-toed platform heels, and an array of stunning silver jewellery.
Other stars who walked the red carpet included Cailee Spaeny, who wore a breathtaking cream halterneck gown featuring a sequin bodice and full skirt. Irish actor Andrew Scott sported a stylish pair of sage green tailored trousers with a butter yellow blazer, pink shirt, and black tie. Josh Brolin kept it casual in grey tailored trousers, a white t-shirt, and a green velvet blazer, while Daryl McCormack looked dashing in a grey oversized suit paired with a dark green shirt and a black and white polka dot tie.
The highly-anticipated film, directed by Rian Johnson, has already received rave reviews from critics. With a perfect 100 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is being hailed as the most intricate mystery of them all. The film follows detective Benoit Blanc as he investigates a chilling murder in a sombre church setting.
Collider declared that Wake Up Dead Man is "twistier, darker and more emotional than the previous two instalments" and that Johnson explores ideas of faith and logic in the movie. Punch Drunk Critics agreed, calling it "the most intricate mystery of them all, grappling with issues of faith, redemption, revenge and forgiveness." Meanwhile, The Wrap branded the film a "glorious, goofy gothic horror."
The Netflix production started principal photography last summer, and director Rian Johnson was thrilled to have assembled an incredible cast for the film. He gushed about the talented actors he has worked with, including Daniel Craig, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, and many more.
"We've been very lucky with each of these movies to have gathered some of my favourite actors on the planet, and that's absolutely the case here," Rian said. "They're also all lovely folks who get along, which is the dinner party aspect of it. When you're making an ensemble movie like this I think that's key."
Interestingly, Jeremy Renner makes a cameo appearance in the film as a bottle of 'Renning Hot' habanero chili pepper sauce. Johnson was thrilled to have worked with the talented actor and joked about keeping the hot sauce off-screen.
"Jeremy's a great actor who I've wanted to work with for a long time," Rian told Netflix's Tudum. "I was very relieved he thought the hot sauce thing was funny! He's playing a proper part in this one, we'll keep the sauce off screen. Maybe we'll sneak a few bottles onto the catering table."
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be released in select cinemas on November 28 and will hit Netflix on December 12. Get ready for a thrilling whodunnit that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
