Dancing With the Stars Drama: Bruno Tonioli's Score Mix-Up Sparks Fan Fury!

Fans called out 'messy' judge Bruno Tonioli, 69, after he issued a last minute score change to Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt, 32, during the Dancing With the Stars Season 34 premiere on Tuesday

Dancing With the Stars Season 34 Premiere: Drama, Drama, and More Drama

The highly anticipated Season 34 premiere of Dancing With the Stars kicked off with a bang - and we're not just talking about the explosive performances! The new cast, which includes Alec Baldwin's wife Hilaria Baldwin, Corey Feldman, Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Jordan Chiles, Baron Davis, Elaine Hendrix, Scott Hoying, Dylan Efron, Andy Richter, Danielle Fishel, and Lauren Jauregui, is already stirring up controversy.

But before we dive into the drama-filled premiere, let's get one thing straight: our beloved judge Bruno Tonioli is a hot mess! The 69-year-old judge has been in the business for decades, but it seems he still can't quite get his act together. At the start of the show, fans were left scratching their heads when Bruno issued a last-minute score change to Whitney Leavitt, giving her an 8 instead of the initially announced 7.

After dancing the Tango with partner Mark Ballas, judges Bruno and Derek Hough, 40, were impressed, initially both giving her a 7 each, for a total score of 14

"This is not good," wrote one frustrated fan on social media. "If there's one thing you can count on, it's Bruno thirsting, getting distracted and putting in the wrong score #dwts."

But Bruno was quick to defend himself, joking that he should be "locked up" for his mistake. Host Alfonso Ribeiro explained the situation, stating that the judges' scores are locked in after they're keyed in, regardless of which paddle they hold up.

Despite this minor hiccup, the show continued with only two judges at the table - Bruno and Derek Hough, who was forced to carry the torch for his missing partner Carrie Ann Inaba. The normally stoic judge seemed a bit off as he took her place, but we're guessing it's just because he's trying to keep up appearances.

Though Bruno held out a paddle with the number 7, it was revealed that he had actually keyed in a score of 8, changing Whitney's total to 15

Speaking of Carrie Ann, she made a shocking announcement on social media earlier in the day that left fans worried. "I wanted to share that I will not be at the show tonight as I am feeling quite under the weather," she wrote. "I'm resting up and can't wait to be back next week in good health."

The DWTS pros were quick to offer their well-wishes, with Britt Stewart commenting, "Hope you feel better Carrie Ann!" and Derek leaving two red-heart emojis. But let's be real - with a history of never missing a show in 20 years, this is definitely not something we see happening often.

Now, onto the performances! The new cast got off to a rocky start, with Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson struggling through their tango. Bruno was particularly harsh, giving them a paltry 5 out of 10. "I've seen better dancing at a middle school talent show," he quipped.

Host Alfonso Ribeiro explained the score hiccup: 'Our judges key in their scores right after the dance, and then they are locked, regardless of which paddle they hold up. We go with their locked score. Bruno keyed in an 8, so Whitney's total was 15'

But things only got worse from there. Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy's cha-cha was lackluster, with Derek giving them a 4 out of 10. And poor Jordan Chiles - the American gymnast's salsa performance left Bruno unimpressed, earning her a 5 out of 10.

But don't worry, folks, it's not all doom and gloom! Some of our favorite stars shone bright on the dance floor. Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten brought the heat with their sizzling cha-cha, while Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach slayed their own cha-cha performance.

But behind-the-scenes, sources are revealing that this season has been a hot mess from day one. Insiders claim that producers have been fighting to quell drama among the cast, who seem more interested in getting Instagram likes than actually putting in the work.

'We already have bruno messing up the scores and it's 4 dances in,' one frustrated fan wrote

"It's a s**t show," an insider told The Scholarly Note. "They chose a few stars - and I use that term loosely - who just don't want to put in the effort. Some just don't seem as committed as others have in the past."

And it seems like things are only going to get worse from here! With Carrie Ann's absence being a major talking point, will Bruno be able to keep his act together for the rest of the season? And can this motley crew of celebrities actually make it through the competition without imploding?

Tune in next week to find out - but don't say we didn't warn you!

However, Whitney appeared happy with the score change
