Controversial Casting Sparks Boycott Threats Against 'The Traitors'
BOOBYT ALERT!
The Traitors fans are FURIOUS over Peacock's latest casting choice for season 4, and it's not hard to see why! Michael Rapaport, a comedian and actor best known for his role as Gary on Friends, has joined the star-studded cast. But here's the thing - Rapaport is a self-proclaimed Zionist who has made some VERY controversial comments about Palestine.
The outspoken actor has been vocal about his support for Israel since the October 7 terror attacks, and let's just say his views are not exactly... diplomatic. In fact, he's been known to mock Palestinians, calling them "terrorists" and saying that "Palestine will never be free". Yeah, you read that right.
But it gets even juicier! Rapaport has also shared some pretty cringeworthy videos on social media, celebrating Israel's attacks on Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon (resulting in civilian casualties, including children). And let's not forget the time he mocked Gaza for not being able to celebrate Christmas, calling it a "s**t hole"!
Needless to say, pro-Palestine supporters are NOT having it. Thescholarlynote.com has received tons of comments from fans threatening to boycott the new season altogether. "Peacock wants to be boycotted so bad by casting Rapaport," wrote one furious fan. Another posted, "Michael Rapaport is a raging Zionist. Not watching this trash."
But here's the thing - The Traitors has become one of the biggest shows in reality TV, drawing in millions of views across both the US and UK. And with a cast that includes Bachelor star Colton Underwood, Survivor's Rob Cesternino, K-pop star Eric Nam, and Real Housewives stars Lisa Rinna, Dorinda Medley, and Porsha Williams, it's hard to imagine why Peacock would want to alienate such a passionate fan base.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the Palestinian death toll from the 20-month Israel-Hamas war has climbed past 55,000, with more than half being women and children. So, yeah, this casting choice is definitely causing some serious controversy!
So, will you be tuning in for season 4 of The Traitors, or are you boycotting over Rapaport's inclusion? Let us know in the comments!
