Comedian Rosie O'Donnell Issues Apology Over Misinformed Assumptions on Tragic Minnesota School Shooting
Rosie O'Donnell's MAGA Meltdown: Comedian Accidentally Trashes Deceased School Shooter's Actual Politics
In a jaw-dropping display of ignorance, comedic legend Rosie O'Donnell has apologized for branding the Minneapolis school shooter, Robin Westman, a "MAGA Republican" after the tragic incident left two children dead and 17 others injured. The former talk show host's rant on TikTok was a hot mess, with O'Donnell spewing out conspiracy theories and assumptions about the shooter's politics.
But here's the thing: it turns out Westman wasn't exactly the MAGA-loving, NRA-toting kind of person O'Donnell had assumed. In fact, police revealed that Westman, who changed her name from Robert in 2019, was a self-identified transgender woman with a nihilistic worldview and an obsession with past mass shooters.
In a bizarre twist, investigators discovered that Westman's gun stash included words like "kill Donald Trump" scrawled on one of the firearms, as well as racist and anti-Semitic messages. So much for the "MAGA Republican" label, right?
O'Donnell's apology video was a bit of an afterthought, but we've got to give her credit for owning up to her mistakes. "I know a lot of you were very upset about the video I made before I went away for a few days," she said, looking sheepish. "You're right, and I didn't do my due diligence before making that emotional statement."
But it seems like O'Donnell's apology came a bit too little, too late. Westman, you see, had left behind a chilling manifesto in the form of a YouTube video (since deleted) where she showed off her kill kit and ranted about her dislike of Trump and the church.
In the 20-minute-long video, Westman revealed her warped obsession with other school shooters, including Sandy Hook mass shooter Adam Lanza. She also shared handwritten notes in a final letter to her family and friends, confessing that she believed she was dying of cancer caused by a vaping habit.
"I think I am dying of cancer," Westman wrote, sounding eerily detached. "It's a tragic end as it's entirely self-inflicted. I did this to myself as I cannot control myself and have been destroying my body through vaping and other means."
And then, in a bizarre non-sequitur, Westman added: "Unfortunately, due to my depression, anger, and twisted mind, I want to fulfill a final act that has been in the back of my head for years." The note was signed with the name 'Robin M. Westman, 2002-2025' and what appeared to be a bird drawing.
It's worth noting that while O'Donnell's apology was half-hearted at best, she did manage to get one thing right: when you mess up, you fess up. And in this case, it looks like O'Donnell messed up big time.
The tragic incident has left many wondering about the motives behind Westman's actions. Was it a twisted cry for attention? A desperate attempt to prove a point? Or simply a manifestation of her own inner demons?
Whatever the reason, one thing is certain: this horrific event serves as a sobering reminder that even in the most unexpected corners of society, mental health issues can simmer just below the surface.
