Chynna Phillips Confesses Marriage Struggles: Power, Control, and Faith

Chynna Phillips has gone on a brutal tirade against her husband Billy Baldwin - accusing him of using 'power and control' during the first years of their relationship

SHOCKING EXPOSÉ: Chynna Phillips Blasts Husband Billy Baldwin in Brutal Tirade

In a jaw-dropping, 16-minute-long video shared on her faith-based YouTube channel California Preachin', former musician Chynna Phillips, 57, unleashed a scathing attack on her husband of over two decades, actor Billy Baldwin. The explosive rant, which has left fans and followers stunned, reveals the "complicated" marriage of the Baldwin couple, exposing years of alleged power struggles, control issues, and a deepening chasm in their relationship.

A First Kiss That Left Her 'Turned Off'

The former musician, 57, who converted to Christianity in 2022, opened up about her 'complicated' marriage in an unflinchingly honest video shared to her YouTube channel

Chynna's shocking confessions began with her recounting the story of their first meeting on a plane in 1991. She remembered being "white as a ghost" after watching Billy's film Backdraft just days earlier, declaring him to be the most handsome man she had ever seen. However, things took an awkward turn when Billy approached her and, in a nightclub bathroom, made the move for their first kiss – by asking if he could borrow some lipstick.

"I was so upset because I'd been waiting for this first kiss and this is how he approaches me? This is how he goes in for the kiss? 'Can I borrow some lipstick?' I was like, 'No ew no why did he just do that?' I was a little turned off," Chynna recalled.

A Love-Hate Relationship

She laid bare a series of devastating problems that have plagued her and Billy's relationship over the years in a shocking, 16-minute-long rant

Despite her initial reservations, Chynna confessed to having fallen head over heels in love with Billy. However, things took a turn for the worse when he took an excessively long time to propose to her. In a bold move, she decided to take matters into her own hands and proposed to him herself – albeit with a homemade tinfoil ring.

"I went into the kitchen and I grabbed a piece of aluminum foil and I wrapped it up and made it into a ring and got down on one knee in front of him," Chynna said. "I literally proposed to Billy, and he said no. And I was heartbroken, livid, and disgusted all in one ball of emotion."

The devastating rejection led to nearly three years of tension between the couple, with Chynna claiming that Billy used his power and control over her to dangle marriage over her head.

She said Billy has 'struggled' with her 'Jesus journey' and theorized that he feels 'upstaged by the big man,' before she begged Jesus to help 'heal and restore and refurbish' their marriage

Power Struggles and Control Issues

Chynna's accusations against Billy paint a picture of a tumultuous relationship marked by power struggles and control issues. She claimed that he would often use their differences in perspective as an excuse for not wanting to tie the knot, creating an atmosphere of tension and mistrust between them.

"Basically what ensued after that was just years of power and control issues between me and Billy because I truly believe that he sort of dangled marriage over my head for years before he finally proposed," Chynna alleged.

But according to Chynna, their struggles didn't just start recently, as she also spoke about the 'heartbreaking' early years of their romance. They're seen in 1995

A Marriage 'Not Supposed to Hurt'

Fast-forwarding to the present, Chynna expressed her desire to reconcile with Billy and mend their strained relationship. However, she admitted that she has been struggling with forgiveness and patience – crucial qualities in a marriage.

"I haven't been kind and I haven't been forgiving and I haven't been patient and I haven't been giving of myself in an emotional way," Chynna confessed. "I feel like I have shut down in many ways. I feel like it's been unfair to Billy, the way that I have treated him. I feel like I really dropped the ball."

She confessed that their first kiss left her 'a little turned off' and recalled how he made the move outside of a bathroom in a nightclub. They're seen early on in their romance

A Plea for Help from Jesus

As she concluded her heartfelt confession, Chynna made a desperate plea for help – not just for herself but also for her marriage.

"We have been through major, major, major trials and I'm proud of us," Chynna said. "We've been able to persevere, we've been able to come out the other end of it... Love's not supposed to hurt, but sometimes it does, it's not comfortable, sometimes it's painful."

Even so, Chynna said she continued to fall head over heals for Billy - but she claimed that when he took a long time to propose to her she started to feel extremely discouraged

Chynna ended her emotional plea by expressing her trust in Jesus to heal and restore their marriage.

"I plan on trying to make those little changes in my marriage with the help of Jesus because I can't do it alone," she said. "Listen, nobody's marriage is perfect, and I feel like my husband and I have something really, really, really special... All you got to do is continue turning it over to Jesus and trusting that he's going to heal and restore and refurbish my marriage."

In the aftermath of this explosive confession, fans and followers are left wondering what the future holds for the Baldwin couple. Will Chynna's plea for help from Jesus be enough to mend their strained relationship? Only time will tell.

The two ultimately married in September 1995, four years after they first met, and they went o to welcome three kids together
