Christy Turlington and Grace Burns: A Stylish Mother-Daughter Duo at the 2025 DVF Awards!
DVF Awards 2025: Christy Turlington and Daughter Grace Burns Sizzle on Red Carpet
It's been a while since we've seen supermodel Christy Turlington, 56, step out in public with her stunning daughter, Grace Burns, 21. But the mother-daughter duo made a jaw-dropping appearance together at the prestigious DVF Awards in Venice on Thursday. The star-studded event honored extraordinary women who are dedicated to improving the lives of other women, and Christy was one of the recipients of The DVF Leadership Award for her tireless work with non-profit organisation Every Mother Counts.
As they posed for cameras ahead of the ceremony, it was clear that mother and daughter share an unbreakable bond. Christy wrapped an arm around Grace, beaming with pride as they smiled brightly for the paparazzi. We have to say, these two are one of the most stylish pairs we've seen in a long time!
Christy looked effortlessly chic in a floor-length black dress that screamed elegance and sophistication. The Versace model added height with strappy, pointed black heels and kept her accessories minimal, opting for delicate hoop earrings that sparkled under the lights. But it was Grace who stole the show in her chocolate brown polka-dot dress with spaghetti straps and a cowl neckline. Her dramatic long train added an extra touch of glamour to her overall look.
The model-in-the-making completed her ensemble with simple silver stud earrings and beamed proudly beside her famous mum. It's clear that Christy is passing on her fashion know-how to the next generation, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for this talented young woman!
Founded in 2010 by Diane von Furstenberg and The Diller–von Furstenberg Family Foundation, The DVF Awards recognize and amplify the voices of extraordinary women who are dedicated to improving the lives of other women. Each year, five women are honored at the ceremony for their leadership and efforts to tackle some of the world's most pressing challenges.
Christy's outing comes after she and Grace attended the Calvin Klein runway show at New York Fashion Week earlier this year. The event marked the first Calvin Klein show in eight years, and the stars of the fashion world turned out in force to support the iconic American brand. Christy was one of the muses for Klein alongside supermodel Kate Moss, and both were in attendance for his return to the Big Apple.
In a sweet moment from their outing, we spotted Christy and Grace seated in the front row alongside Moss and Alexander Skarsgard. The mother-daughter duo wore black dresses for the event, with Christy opting for a long black dress paired with white pumps. We have to admit, it was a clever move – but unfortunately, it's not the first time we've seen her copycat style!
But don't get us wrong; Christy is still the queen of fashion, and she knows how to rock a look like no one else can. She shares Grace and son Finn, 18, with her husband Ed Burns, who met in 2000 at a charity event and tied the knot in 2003.
It seems that fashion runs deep in this family, as Grace is following in her mother's footsteps in the modelling world. Despite being warned to stay far away from the industry, Grace made her runway debut in 2023 at the X LuisaViaRoma show in Florence, Italy. And just two months before that event, the mother-daughter duo appeared together in a campaign for designer Carolina Herrera.
We caught up with Christy on social media earlier this summer when she shared a rare photo of her family celebrating Finn's high school graduation. In the post, she lamented her newfound status as an "empty nester," writing: "I am officially an “empty nester” today! How do I feel about it? Ask me in three months, after my baby has moved out of our home and settled into his college dorm across the country."
But despite the emotional adjustment, Christy seems grateful for this milestone. "Every day is a gift, especially when in good health and when we feel safe and well supported," she shared with her followers. "I know by now that life and our experiences are fleeting and that what’s truly important is to make meaningful connections in this lifetime."
And as she celebrated Finn's graduation, Christy couldn't help but thank the people who had loved and supported her kid along the way. "You all made it more fun and rewarding every step of the way," she wrote. "So, here is to whatever is outside of the nest and to embracing as much of it as we possibly can for as long as we can from here."
We couldn't agree more, Christy! As one of the most iconic models of our time, you continue to inspire us with your style, your kindness, and your generosity. And who knows? Maybe one day, Grace will follow in your footsteps and become a supermodel in her own right!
