Chrissy Metz Updates on Mandy Moore's Recovery from Devastating Fire
BREAKING: Chrissy Metz Spills Tea on Mandy Moore's Post-Fire Rebuild and Shares Heartwarming Update
The drama never stops for the This Is Us gang! And now, we've got a juicy update straight from Chrissy Metz's mouth about her co-star Mandy Moore's ordeal after losing her home in the devastating Los Angeles fires back in January.
Metz, who has been on a remarkable weight-loss journey (100 pounds down, yaaas!), revealed to Extra that Moore and her family are "doing well" as they navigate the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. But, let's be real, it's not all sunshine and rainbows for our favorite TV mom.
"It's so life-altering," Metz confessed about Moore's situation. "A lot of the structure was able to be salvaged, which is great, but it's just... jarring." We can only imagine how overwhelming it must be for Moore to rebuild her home while also caring for her three tiny humans (sons Gus and Ozzie, and daughter Lou) and their furry friends.
And in other news, Metz has been keeping busy with her latest project, Faith in the Flames: The Nichole Jolly Story. This powerful drama is based on the true story of a woman who lost everything in the 2018 Camp Fire that ravaged Paradise, California. We're told Metz was initially hesitant to take on the role due to the intense subject matter.
"I love a true story, and I love a heroic true story," she explained. "However, there was fire involved, and I was like, 'I don't know if I'm the girl for the job... Maybe I can't do it, physically and mentally, emotionally.'" We get it, girl - fire is scary!
But Metz's nerves were calmed after talking to the real Nichole Jolly. "We talked for a couple of hours," she shared. "I asked her so many questions. I just don't understand how her brain worked... I was like, 'I don't think I could do it, you know? Like, I get overwhelmed if I wake up late.'" Yeah, we can relate!
Faith in the Flames: The Nichole Jolly Story premiered on Lifetime July 19 and is a must-watch for anyone who loves true stories of resilience.
As for Metz's This Is Us co-stars, she revealed that they're all still super close. "We all are texting each other," she said with a smile. "I always text when any projects come out or Sterling with his nominations for Paradise." Brown received his 10th Emmy nomination (his third win would be a big deal if he takes it home!) for his role as a secret service agent investigating the murder of the president after an environmental catastrophe.
So, there you have it - Chrissy Metz dishing on Mandy Moore's post-fire life and sharing her own dramatic journey. Stay tuned for more updates from our favorite TV stars!
