Chilling Warning: Matt Rife's Haunted Purchase Ignites Paranormal Fury

The grandson of famous demonologists who inspired The Conjouring franchise of films, Chris McKinnell,  has blasted anti-woke comedian Matt Rife after he bought his grandparent's house and the world's most haunted doll Annabelle

SHOCKING TWIST IN ANNABELLE'S LEGACY: Warren's Grandson Blasts Matt Rife Over Paranormal Shenanigans

In a stunning turn of events, Chris McKinnell, the grandson of renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, has unleashed a scathing attack on comedian Matt Rife over his recent purchase of their infamous Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut. Rife's acquisition of the paranormal hotspot has sent shockwaves through the horror community, with many questioning the 30-year-old's motives.

The Warrens' family legacy is rooted in the paranormal, with Ed and Lorraine being instrumental in popularizing the concept of demonic possession through their investigations and exorcisms. Their work was immortalized in The Conjuring franchise, which has spawned a devoted fan base. However, McKinnell believes Rife's actions are nothing short of betrayal.

Rife stunned fans when he revealed he had purchased paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren¿s home and Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut, subsequently becoming the legal guardian of the famed 'demonic' Annabelle doll - pictured with the Annabelle doll and co-owner Elton Castee (left)

"I'd never even heard of him until he bought it," McKinnell revealed during an appearance on the Reel Appreciation podcast. "I didn't know who he was." It seems that Matt Rife has managed to keep a relatively low profile until now, but his decision to purchase the Warrens' home and Annabelle, the world's most haunted doll, has put him firmly in the spotlight.

As part of his ownership, Rife plans to reopen the house for overnight stays and museum tours, which has sent alarm bells ringing among paranormal enthusiasts. McKinnell is adamant that this development is a recipe for disaster. "To me, that place is the Chernobyl of the paranormal," he declared, hinting at the potential dangers of meddling with forces beyond human understanding.

But what exactly are these forces? The legend of Annabelle dates back to the 1970s when it was allegedly gifted to a nurse in Hartford, Connecticut. Initially, the doll seemed harmless but soon began exhibiting disturbing behavior. Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to investigate, and their subsequent exorcism has become the stuff of horror legend.

Now, the grandson of Ed and Lorraine Warren has taken aim at the 30-year-old comedian during an appearance on the Reel Appreciation podcast as he said: 'I'd never even heard of him until he bought it. I didn't know who he was'

According to Gerald Brittle's book The Demonologist: The Extraordinary Career of Ed and Lorraine Warren, Annabelle was believed to be possessed by a spirit known as Annabelle Higgins, who died on the property years prior. The doll was said to have attacked someone, and its eerie messages left many convinced that it was being used as a vessel for dark forces.

Rife's plans to take the paranormal objects on tour have sparked concerns among fans of the horror genre. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, his representatives clarified that "there are no plans and there have never been plans to take any of the artifacts on tour." However, McKinnell remains skeptical, questioning Rife's commitment to preserving the Warrens' legacy.

"One of the worst parts of my grandparents' legacy is that my grandfather ever made the mistake of calling it a museum," McKinnell lamented. "It was never open to the public. That's a misconception. It was always by special invitation, one or two people, very small groups with specific instructions — don't touch anything, don't treat anything with misrespect, do not try to communicate with anything."

Warren's Occult Museum was curated by paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren (pictured in 1981), who investigated the doll in the '70s following a haunting encounter

By doing so publicly, Rife is accused of ruining the carefully crafted image that Ed and Lorraine Warren spent their lives building. McKinnell feels betrayed by his decision to profit from the paranormal hotspot without truly understanding or respecting its significance.

As the debate rages on, questions about Matt Rife's motivations for purchasing the Occult Museum remain unanswered. Is he genuinely interested in preserving the Warrens' legacy, or is this a calculated move to capitalize on the horror community's fascination with Annabelle?

One thing is certain – Chris McKinnell will not stand idly by as his family's reputation is put at risk. In a passionate warning, he cautioned against Rife's plans: "What are they doing now? They're doing TikTok videos where they're talking to these things. They're trying to communicate with these things."

When the Warrens took ownership of Annabelle (pictured) they locked her in a specially built glass case in their museum to contain the 'evil spirited entity' within and warned that she should never be moved. However Annabelle recently toured the US

The stage is set for a battle between Matt Rife and the Warrens' family legacy. Will Rife be able to justify his actions, or will McKinnell's concerns prove prophetic? One thing's for sure – the fate of Annabelle and the Occult Museum hangs precariously in the balance.
