In a desperate plea with the court, she claims she has very little income and needs spousal support to cover her expenses of $12,000 per month ($5,000 for rent and $1,500 for groceries and household supplies). She alleges that Elijah's famous family has money and that he can afford her attorney's fees and costs - at the rate of $300 per hour - from his various sources of income.

The self-proclaimed "housewife" and "homemaker" from Los Angeles reveals in court documents that her total assets, including money in her checking and savings accounts, is a paltry $3,651.96. Meanwhile, Elijah's net worth is estimated to be significantly higher, thanks to his family's vast fortune.

Marieangela claims that she hasn't had income since she put her career on hold in 2009 "to attend to domestic duties and support Elijah's career." She alleges that the "entertainment market is difficult" and that she has not been able to develop her career while supporting Elijah "and his family's priorities, especially under such a high-profile magnifier."

She also claims that Elijah was the "sole provider" during their marriage, covering her health and auto insurance plans. Marieangela alleges that he was receiving a minimum of $20,000 a month from two separate accounts and that this was just an advance of what he was owed.

In a surprising twist, Cher has been dragged into the messy divorce. Marieangela claims that Elijah's mother has financially supported him throughout their marriage, using her vast wealth to fund his lifestyle.
