Chaz Bono Stepping Out Amidst Family Crisis: Son Elijah Blue Allman's Overdose

Cher's somber son Chaz Bono was seen for the first time since brother Elijah Blue Allman's overdose as he stepped out in California on Tuesday.

Cher's Family Drama: Son Elijah Blue Allman's Shocking Overdose and Chaz Bono's Emotional Response

In a shocking turn of events, Cher's son Elijah Blue Allman has been hospitalized after an overdose in Southern California over the weekend. The 48-year-old was rushed to the hospital on Saturday morning, leaving his mother, the legendary singer-songwriter, Cher, frantic with worry.

But it's not just Elijah who's caught up in this family drama - his brother Chaz Bono, 56, has been spotted out and about in California, attempting to put on a brave face. Sources close to the family reveal that Cher is "focusing all her energy" on getting Elijah the help he needs.

The legendary performer's youngest child, 48, whom she shared with the late Gregg Allman, 'was rushed to the hospital in Joshua Tree, California, after overdosing earlier Saturday morning'; seen in 2002

According to a statement released by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, deputies were called to Elijah's residence in Landers, California, after receiving reports of a male acting erratically. When they arrived, they found Elijah being evaluated by emergency medical personnel and located drugs inside the home. He was subsequently transported to the hospital.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, but insiders claim that Elijah is "very lucky to have survived" his overdose. A source close to the family revealed that Cher is "beside herself with worry" about her son's well-being and is doing everything in her power to get him the help he needs.

But this isn't the first time Elijah has struggled with addiction. In a candid interview with ET back in 2014, he revealed that he started using drugs at just 11 years old, including weed and ecstasy. He also confessed to having close calls with overdosing and admitted that he turned to heroin as a way to escape his demons.

Chaz, 56, put on a brave face and wore a poignant 'Strong' shirt as he waved at snappers- three days after the devastating family event

"I was just looking to escape all the things in my past," he said at the time. "If I didn't have [heroin] at that point, I don't know what I would have done... You may jump off a bridge."

Elijah's father, Gregg Allman, also struggled with substance abuse issues before his death from liver cancer in 2012. His uncle Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1971.

But it seems that Elijah's struggles are far from over. Just last month, he was spotted looking disoriented and sweaty outside the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. And with his divorce from estranged wife Marieangela King pending, insiders claim that he's struggling to cope with the stress of it all.

Cher has been vocal about her concerns for Elijah's well-being in the past, even going so far as to file for a temporary conservatorship over his finances in 2023. However, she withdrew the request just nine months later after Elijah claimed to be sober and attending AA-type meetings.

Now, with Elijah hospitalized and facing an uncertain future, Cher is more determined than ever to get him the help he needs. And with Chaz Bono by her side, it seems that this family drama is far from over.

The Latest on Elijah's Condition

As of now, Elijah remains hospitalized in Southern California, but his current condition is unclear. Sources close to the family reveal that Cher has been visiting him daily and is doing everything she can to support him through this difficult time.

But it's not just Cher who's concerned about Elijah's well-being - insiders claim that Chaz Bono has been a rock for both Elijah and Cher during this trying time.

"Chaz has always been very supportive of his family members," said an insider. "He's been by Elijah's side throughout this ordeal and is doing everything he can to help him get the help he needs."

And while it's clear that this family drama is far from over, one thing is certain: Cher will stop at nothing to ensure her son gets the help he needs.

A Family History of Addiction

Elijah's struggles with addiction are just the latest in a long line of family problems. His father Gregg Allman struggled with substance abuse issues before his death from liver cancer in 2012, and his uncle Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1971 after struggling with addiction.

It seems that the Allman family has a legacy of substance abuse issues that just won't quit. But with Cher by Elijah's side, it's clear that this family is determined to break free from their demons once and for all.
