Charlie Sheen's Shocking Revelations: From Crack to Cross-Gender Encounters
CHARLIE SHEEN SHAKES OFF THE PAST: ACTOR REVEALS HE'S SLEPT WITH MEN, FACES EXTORTION AND DRUG-FUELED DEBACLE
In a shocking and long-awaited confessional, Charlie Sheen has finally opened up about his most scandalous secrets in his upcoming book and documentary. The 60-year-old actor, who's been known for his wild antics over the years, revealed that he's had same-sex encounters while under the influence of crack cocaine.
"I flipped the menu over," Sheen candidly admitted to People Magazine in an interview promoting both projects. "I'm not going to run from my past or let it own me." The Wall Street actor, who rose to fame in the 80s with his breakout roles in Platoon and Wall Street, confessed that he was using crack when these encounters occurred.
"That's what started it," Sheen explained, reflecting on the tumultuous period of his life. "That’s where it was born, or sparked. And in whatever chunks of time that I was off the pipe, trying to navigate that, trying to come to terms with it — 'Where did that come from?… Why did that happen?' — and then just finally being like, 'So what?' So what? Some of it was weird. A lot of it was f**king fun. And life goes on."
In an appearance on Good Morning America, Sheen revealed the dark side of his secrets: extortion. The actor confessed that he was blackmailed by those who had recorded videos of him engaging in same-sex encounters. "It did come with a tremendous amount of extortion," he explained. "So, at the time, I was just, 'All right, let's just pay to keep it quiet, and hope it stays there, make it go away.'"
Sheen also opened up about how his HIV status had been used as leverage against him. "They had videoed things or whatever and had stuff over me, so that was kind of held hostage, you know, and that's a bad feeling," he said. However, in 2015, Sheen decided to reveal his HIV status, stating it was "a tremendous relief" to finally be free from the burden.
When asked about why he kept these experiences hidden for so long, Sheen candidly replied, "Liberating. It's f-cking liberating... [to] just talk about stuff. It's like a train didn't come through the side of the restaurant. A f*ing piano didn't fall out of the sky. No one ran into the room and shot me."
Sheen has since turned his life around, quitting drugs and remaining sober for eight years. He's also made amends with those he hurt in the past and is adamant that readers of his book or viewers of the documentary shouldn't feel like he's trying to play the victim.
The Platoon actor has come a long way from his wild bachelor days on Two and a Half Men, which ended abruptly in 2011 due to his erratic behavior. Today, Sheen lives a much quieter life with his five children: Cassandra (40) with high school sweetheart Paula Profit; daughters Sami (21) and Lola (20) with ex-wife Denise Richards; and twins Bob and Max (16) from his marriage to ex Brook Mueller.
"My romantic life is as uneventful as it possibly could be, and it’s been that way for a long time," Sheen confessed. "It wasn’t even by choice, but the girls [Sami and Lola] moved in and then when they moved out, the boys moved in, and there wasn’t enough room in the car."
The Book of Sheen is set to be released on September 9th, followed by the Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen on September 10th.
As for fans who are eagerly awaiting his book and documentary, Sheen has a message: "I'm not trying to make excuses or justify my behavior. I just want people to know that I've been through hell and back, but I'm finally at peace."
