Channing Tatum Spills on Teenage Drama: Everly's First Yell!

Channing Tatum discussed his relationship with daughter Everly on Thursday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show

Channing Tatum Opens Up About His Daughter's "Shark Eyes" and The Challenges of Fatherhood

In a candid conversation on Thursday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Channing Tatum dished about his relationship with his 12-year-old daughter, Everly. The 45-year-old actor, who shares Everly with ex-wife Jenna Dewan, took a moment to share an anecdote about the pre-teen as he promoted his new film, Roofman.

As it turns out, Channing has noticed a significant change in Everly's behavior as she prepares to enter her teenage years. He playfully referenced Drew Barrymore's own daughters, Olive and Frankie, saying, "I don't know when yours started changing or if [they] started changing, but it's just happening for me." Channing explained that Everly used to be a strong-willed child, but now she's reached a whole new level of assertiveness.

The actor shared a hilarious story about an incident that occurred during an escape room outing with his daughter. "She got yelled at me yesterday! Like, she's never yelled at me before," Channing revealed. He explained that he made a comment, and Everly snapped back, "Dad, don't touch that!" The proud father added, "And I'm like, whoa, what was that? We're both trying to solve this problem, and now I feel like we have to go to therapy because of that moment."

Channing's observations about his daughter's behavior sparked a heated debate among parents online. Many agreed with the actor, stating that they too had experienced similar changes in their own children as they entered pre-teen years. Others chimed in, sharing their own stories of dealing with strong-willed kids.

The conversation about Everly continued on The Kelly Clarkson Show earlier this week, where Channing discussed the challenges of balancing his career with fatherhood. "It's a balance and it's a constant negotiation," he told host Kelly. The actor confessed that he often finds himself making tough decisions about his work schedule, which can be difficult for his daughter to understand.

Channing opened up about having an honest conversation with Everly about the upcoming film shoot in Australia, where she would have to spend almost two months without her father. "I've never really done that other than on Roofman," he explained. "It was a conversation then as well because it was in North Carolina."

The actor's comments sparked sympathy from fans, who can relate to the struggles of balancing work and family life. Many took to social media to share their own stories of being away from loved ones for extended periods.

In related news, Channing recently walked the red carpet with Everly at the English Dub premiere of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle in September. The proud father gushed about sharing the experience with his daughter on Instagram, writing, "Walking the #DemonSlayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle carpet with Evie by my side was honestly a dream come true."

He continued to share sweet moments from their time together, saying, "She's been my anime inspiration from the start, and sharing this moment with her made my first time voicing Keizo extra special." Channing concluded his post by stating that having a project they both love in theaters is an incredible feeling. "Having a project we both love in theaters now just feels unreal. [My] heart is full and fanboy levels are off the charts!"
