Carson Daly's Sassy Take on Hoda Kotb's Exit: 'Making Space'!

Carson Daly had an apparent slip up on the Today Show this week while making the transition to a new story

CARSON DALY'S EPIC FAIL: TV HOST LEFT GROANING ON LIVE TV

It's not every day that a seasoned television host like Carson Daly, 52, has a major slip-up on live air. But, as it turns out, even the most experienced professionals can have off days. In a cringe-worthy moment caught on camera, Daly seemed completely lost while introducing Hoda Kotb's podcast "Making Space" on NBC's Today show.

As the morning show transitioned from Savannah Guthrie's segment to discussing Kotb's latest venture, Daly appeared utterly bewildered. He awkwardly introduced Kotb as if she were going to be joining them live in studio, leaving his co-hosts - Craig Melvin, Dylan Dreyer, and Laura Jarrett - to stifle their giggles.

As the morning show transitioned from a piece by Savannah Guthrie to talking about Hoda Kotb 's podcast Making Space, Carson seemed a bit confused

"Hoda's not here, I don't know where she is," Daly muttered, chuckling nervously. "I think she's on vacation still." The usually suave TV host was left looking flustered, but his co-stars quickly jumped in to save the day. Laura Jarrett playfully teased him about Kotb's recent departure from the show, saying she was "still making space" - a nod to her podcast title.

This wasn't the first time Daly has been seen getting tongue-tied on live TV. In January, he surprised fans by announcing his decision to leave Today after 17 years as a host. When asked about Kotb's departure from the show, Daly couldn't help but gush about the prospect of spending more time with his family.

"I'm happy for Hoda," he gushed. "She's going to get more time with her kids. Walking your kids to school is way more important than being on live TV." It seems like Daly's got his priorities straight, folks!

Carson, 52, sat down to introduce the Pop Start news segment in the second hour of Today, joined by Craig Melvin, Dylan Dreyer and Laura Jarrett

But what really had us wondering was the reason behind his sudden desire to leave the spotlight. In an interview with People last year, Daly confessed that he's been itching to retire from television for a while now. "I still see Jay Leno on TV and I'm like, 'Why?'" he quipped. When asked if he'd be leaving Today for good, Daly hinted at scaling back his commitments.

"I'm looking to cut back," he revealed. "My time with my kids is the most precious thing in the world." We can't blame him one bit! As a father of four - including 16-year-old son Jackson and daughters Etta (12), London (10), and Goldie (5) - Daly's got his hands full.

But what about his relationship with wife Siri Pinter? In an intimate interview with People, Daly revealed the secret to their successful marriage: sleeping in separate beds! That's right, folks; this power couple has taken "sleep divorcing" to a whole new level. They've even installed a guest room for solo sleepovers.

Daly then transitioned to introducing former Today host Hoda Kotb's, 60, podcast, acting like he thought she was going to be on set

"It's been good for us," Daly confessed. "We don't do it all the time, but a couple of days during the week - especially if I want to watch an Islanders hockey game kind of later at night - I go into the guest room." Who knew sleeping in separate beds could be the key to a happy marriage?

As Daly prepares for his next chapter on television, we can't help but wonder: will he stick to his plans and leave Today behind? Only time (and his family) will tell. In the meantime, let's enjoy the memories of his epic fail on live TV - and maybe take a cue from his relationship advice.
