Cardi B's Las Vegas Drama: Sued Over Mic-Throwing Incident
SCANDAL ROCKS THE MUSIC WORLD: CARDI B SUED FOR MIC THROWING INCIDENT TWO YEARS AGO!
In a shocking turn of events, Cardi B, the Queen of Hip-Hop, is facing legal trouble after an anonymous woman filed a lawsuit against her for an alleged incident that took place two years ago in Las Vegas. The 32-year-old superstar is being sued for "assault, battery, and negligence" by Jane Doe, who claims that Cardi threw a microphone at her during a concert at Drai's Beachclub.
According to the lawsuit, the drama unfolded when a fan splashed Cardi with water from an ice-filled cup while she was performing on stage. The rapper allegedly asked fans to throw water on her due to the heatwave in Sin City, but things took a turn when someone threw a cup of liquid that hit her. In response, Cardi hurled the microphone back at the fan, striking Jane Doe.
The lawsuit claims that Cardi's actions caused Jane Doe "serious emotional distress" and seeks unspecified damages. Attorney Cierra N. Norris will be holding a press conference on Thursday in Vegas to discuss the matter further.
THE ORIGINS OF THE INCIDENT
The drama began when Cardi B took the stage at Drai's Beachclub, where she was performing her hit song "Bodak Yellow." As she sang and danced, a fan in the audience decided to get creative by throwing water at her. The 112-degree heat may have contributed to Cardi's frustration as she asked fans to throw water on her to help cool off.
However, when another concertgoer splashed her with a cup of liquid containing ice, Cardi allegedly threw the microphone back at them in response. Unfortunately for Jane Doe, she was the one who got hit by the flying mic, causing her to file a lawsuit against the rapper.
CARDI'S LEGAL TEAM SPOKE OUT
In 2023, Cardi B's legal team issued a statement claiming that she had been cleared of any wrongdoing after an investigation into the incident. "This afternoon we were notified by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept., that as a result of their investigation, there will be NO charges against Cardi," said a trio of lawyers for the pop star.
Despite being listed as a suspected batterer in the incident, police ultimately determined that no crime had occurred and the case was never sent to the district attorney. However, Jane Doe has now taken legal action against Cardi B, seeking damages for her alleged emotional distress.
CARDI'S HISTORY OF MIC THROWING
This isn't the first time that Cardi B has used her microphone as a projectile. The night before the incident at Drai's Beachclub, she was performing on stage when the DJ allegedly cut off her songs too early. In response, Cardi threw her microphone at the DJ in frustration.
In a video shared by user kfen777 on social media, Cardi can be seen shouting out her name and then flinging the microphone like a football before walking off stage.
READERS REACT
Fans in the comments were left confused by the incident, asking "What happened?? There's no context..." One user explained: "DJ cut the track short on multiple songs! She was livid (as you can see)" with a laughing out crying emoji.
