Candace Cameron Bure Removes Swimsuit Photo: Body Image Struggles Revealed

Candace Cameron Bure is opening up about why she deleted a swimsuit snap after fans noticed it vanished from her feed

CANDACE CAMERON BURE SPEWS THE TEA: Actress Deletes Swimsuit Snap After Fans' Toxic Comments Leave Her Feeling "Not Worth It"

In a shocking move, Candace Cameron Bure, star of the beloved sitcom Full House, has revealed that she deleted a swimsuit photo from her Instagram feed after being bombarded with hurtful comments. The 49-year-old actress, who's been open about her struggles with body image and eating disorders in the past, took down the pic, stating it wasn't "worth the headache."

The drama unfolded when fans began scrutinizing Bure's physique, leaving her feeling like she'd unleashed a Pandora's box of negativity. In an Instagram Q&A session over the weekend, a curious fan asked if she'd removed the photo, to which Bure candidly confirmed that she had. The actress explained that the offending snap showed her in a one-piece swimsuit, not a bikini, and was meant to be a lighthearted post.

However, it seems that the comments quickly took a dark turn, with people fixating on Bure's body rather than the intended message of enjoying the summer. "It wasn't about the bathing suit or my body," she clarified. "But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body. It wasn’t worth it. I took it down."

This latest incident is just one chapter in Bure's long and public battle with body image issues. In a 2022 episode of her podcast, The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast, she courageously shared that she developed an eating disorder at the tender age of 18. "I'm a bulimic," she confessed. "The thoughts never leave me. I still need the tools to say, 'No, Candace, we’re not doing that.'"

Bure has also been open about her struggles with dieting, revealing that she's tried every fad diet under the sun since she was 12 years old. In a candid interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2016, she admitted that her history of eating disorders had made maintaining a healthy relationship with food an ongoing battle.

"It was binging and purging," she shared, recalling her struggles. "I still say I’m a bulimic because the thoughts, whether I’m doing that or not, never leave me." Her 2010 memoir, Reshaping It All, offered a poignant glimpse into her journey with bulimia.

But Bure's personal life hasn't been without its own set of challenges. In a bombshell revelation on The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast in July, she confessed that she and her husband, Valeri Bure (a former NHL player), had once considered divorce after 30 years of marriage. The couple's three adult children – Natasha, Lev, and Maksim – played a pivotal role in guiding their parents back to each other.

"We were like, 'I don't know, I don't think... we're gonna make it through,'" Bure recalled of the dark period in their relationship. "But our kids sat us down, and they said, 'Are you being as mature as you can be?' That was, like, the pivotal moment."

This isn't the first time Bure has spoken candidly about her marriage. In a 2021 interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle, she revealed how the COVID-19 pandemic had forced them to confront long-simmering issues.

"All the things that we have avoided for years talking about, they all surfaced and were in our face," she admitted. "And it was unavoidable to actually have these discussions with one another and work through the real deal crap."

As Bure celebrates her 29th wedding anniversary with Valeri (the couple got engaged on June 20, 1993), fans can't help but wonder if they'll make it to their next milestone together. With their love story spanning over three decades, it's clear that these two have weathered many a storm.

The Instagram wipe comes after Candace dropped a bombshell in July about how her 30-year marriage to Valeri Bure nearly ended in divorce

And speaking of anniversaries, Bure recently marked the occasion with a heartfelt tribute to her husband on Instagram. "31 years ago, we went on our first official date at his practice rink in Fredericton, New Brunswick," she gushed. "30 years ago on June 20th, we got engaged in Paris. Happy anniversary to my love and best friend forever."

The question on everyone's mind now is: will Bure continue to bare her soul on social media, or has the backlash from fans' hurtful comments convinced her to keep a lower profile? Only time will tell.
