Cameron Diaz & Benji Madden Make a Public Comeback with Son Cardinal!

It's been a year since we last saw Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden out and about together, but the power couple has finally made their highly anticipated return to the public eye. And let us tell you, they're looking better than ever!
The 53-year-old actress and her 45-year-old husband were spotted strolling through New York City with their adorable one-year-old son Cardinal Madden in tow. The family of three was seen enjoying a casual outing, with Cameron rocking a chic white T-shirt, worn-in denim jeans, and white sneakers. She added a touch of sophistication with a blue sweater draped over her shoulders and a tan crossbody purse.
Meanwhile, Benji looked his usual goth-chic self in a blue-and-white flannel shirt, black slacks, and shoes. He accessorized with a silver chain necklace, stud earrings, prescription glasses, and a black cap. Cardinal, on the other hand, was dressed in a gray top and blue leggings with sneakers, but it's clear he stole the show.
This is not the first time we've seen Cameron and Benji out together in public, but it's been a while since their last appearance in August 2024 in Montecito, California. We have to admit, we're loving this new family dynamic!
But what about their little ones? Well, let us tell you, they're growing up fast! Cardinal is already one year old, and his big sister Raddix is five years young. Benji shared the news of Cardinal's arrival on social media in spring 2024 with a joint post announcing the birth of their son.
"We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden," Benji wrote on Instagram. "He is awesome, and we are all so happy he is here! For the kids' safety and privacy, we won't be posting any pictures – but he's a really cute guy!"

In a rare interview, Benji Madden opened up about his marriage to Cameron Diaz on Rob Lowe's SiriusXM podcast Literally! alongside his twin brother Joel. When asked if they "fear" their strong wives, both brothers admitted that they do – but in the best way possible.
"We fear them," Benji said with a chuckle. "Go against my wife? Good luck. I don't even need to get involved." He lovingly referred to Cameron and his brother's wives as "queens."
SHREK 5 DELAYED UNTIL SUMMER 2027 – BUT DONKEY GETS HIS OWN STANDALONE FILM!
In other news, the release of Shrek 5 has been pushed back until summer 2027. The movie was originally set for a December 2026 opening but will now hit theaters on June 30, 2027.
But that's not all – Universal has shifted an untitled Illumination picture from Shrek 5's old date to April 16, 2027. This move is likely to give the movie more room to breathe and avoid competing with other big releases in the crowded Christmas season.
The new Shrek flick will be the first film in the main series since Shrek Forever After was released in 2010. Regulars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz are set to reprise their roles as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona respectively.
Mike Murphy shared some behind-the-scenes scoop with Extra, revealing that he's recorded "some great stuff" for the movie. He also explained that voice actors typically don't get a full script until they're in the recording booth, which is why it can be a bit isolating at times.

But what about Donkey's next move? Well, we have some exciting news – Eddie Murphy will star in a standalone film centered around the beloved character. The movie is set to begin production in September 2027.
According to ScreenRant, Mike Murphy revealed that they're still working on Shrek 5 voiceover work and that Donkey's film will start development two years from now. It looks like we'll be getting a lot more of Donkey's signature humor soon!
