Tyler Perry Exposed: Actor Derek Dixon Comes Forward with Shocking Allegations of Sexual Harassment and Assault

In a bombshell interview, actor Derek Dixon finally breaks his silence on the alleged abuse he suffered at the hands of billionaire mogul Tyler Perry. The dramatic sit-down with ABC News Live anchor Linsey Davis sees Dixon recount the traumatic experiences that led him to file a staggering $260 million lawsuit against the Hollywood powerhouse.

Dixon's decision to speak out is not taken lightly, as he admits that opening up about his alleged ordeals has been "a vulnerable thing to talk about." However, he feels it's time to share his story, saying, "I can no longer stay silent about it anymore."

The allegations against Perry are nothing short of shocking. According to Dixon, their first encounter took place at a 2019 studio launch party, where Perry allegedly asked if Dixon was an actor and passed along his number with the cryptic message, "we'll talk about this." Little did Dixon know that he would soon be lured into Perry's web of manipulation.

Dixon landed his dream role as Dale on Tyler Perry's BET series The Oval in 2020. However, what seemed like a career-defining opportunity quickly turned sour. Perry allegedly began sending Dixon text messages with a clear intention to seduce him. One particularly graphic message reads, "What's it going to take for you to have guiltless sex? Have y'all found that in therapy yet?"

Dixon told ABC News that these messages were just the beginning of his alleged abuse at Perry's hands. He claims that their interactions escalated into physical encounters, leaving him feeling trapped and humiliated.

Dixon explained how he landed on the staggering $260 million figure in his lawsuit, saying it came down to both personal losses and sending a message: 'Part of that number is my lost job, my lost income, the loss of a show. The other part of that is a deterrent for how do you stop a billionaire who won¿t stop themselves from doing this'

"I got into bed and then I noticed that he climbed into bed with me as well and started rubbing my leg," Dixon recounted, recalling an incident where Perry allegedly made unwanted advances in his guest quarters. "I jumped out of bed...he had said, 'Turn around so I can look at you' and just comment on how I looked."

The alleged abuse continued to escalate, with Dixon claiming that Perry invited him for drinks in his trailer, where he asked if Dixon was attracted to him. When Dixon politely declined, Perry allegedly became aggressive, pushing him up against the wall and grabbing him.

Another disturbing incident took place at Perry's Atlanta home in June 2021, when Dixon claims the mogul led him into a bathroom to measure his weight while he was in his underwear. Perry then allegedly reached down and grabbed Dixon, ignoring his attempts to resist.

In early 2020, Dixon landed his dream role as Dale on Tyler Perry¿s BET series The Oval, appearing in 85 episodes between 2021 and 2025

Dixon eventually ended contact with Perry in spring 2024 and left The Oval in September of that year. He also notes that a show he had been developing, Losing It, which Perry owned the rights to, never progressed beyond the pilot.

In an attempt to make sense of the traumatic events, Dixon filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in January, seeking accountability from his alleged abuser.

As for why he chose $260 million as the value of his lawsuit, Dixon explained that it's not just about personal losses but also sending a message to those who would abuse their power. "Part of that number is my lost job, my lost income, the loss of a show," he said. "The other part of that is a deterrent for how do you stop a billionaire who won’t stop themselves from doing this."

Tyler Perry's lawyer, Matthew Boyd, dismissed Dixon's claims, calling them "fabricated" and stating that Dixon was simply trying to "scam" the mogul.

As for justice, Dixon remains resolute. "It would look like thinking I've made a change and that something like this won't happen to another actor that works for him or another actor in the industry," he said. "That would be justice for me."

In light of these shocking allegations, it's clear that Derek Dixon is fighting back against an alleged predator who has been hiding behind his fame and wealth. Will justice prevail? Only time will tell.

Thescholarlynote.com reached out to reps for Perry but received no response. The case is ongoing, with the world watching as this high-profile drama unfolds.

As for Dixon's future, he remains determined to use his experience to bring about change in the industry. "I've learned that you should not treat your employees this way and never use someone's dream to coerce them into a relationship that's not professional," he said.
