Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter Steal the Show at London Premiere!
Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter Shine on the Red Carpet, But It's Olivia Colman Who Steals the Show with Her Candid Confessions
Last night, Benedict Cumberbatch and his stunning wife, Sophie Hunter, turned heads at the London premiere of their latest movie, The Thing with Feathers. The 49-year-old actor looked dashing in a khaki suede blazer, paired with a chocolate brown button-up shirt and smart black trousers, as he posed alongside his elegant wife on the red carpet.
Sophie, 47, cut a chic figure in a bronze satin midi dress, featuring a high neckline and ruched detailing down the side. She added height with white mesh slingback heels and styled her brunette locks into a voluminous, flicky blowout, turning heads as she walked alongside Benedict.
But it was Olivia Colman who stole the show with her candid confessions about the weird side of fame on an episode of Dish from Waitrose last month. The Crown star, 51, revealed that fans have asked for selfies while she's in the toilet, knocking on the cubicle door and even interrupting her when she's washing her hands.
"I mean, it's just bizarre," Olivia said with a laugh. "People will come up to you in weird places and ask for photos. I've had people ask me to take selfies while I'm having a wee, which is just...wow."
Benedict, on the other hand, seems to enjoy the attention that comes with being a famous actor. In fact, he revealed that Halloween is his favorite time of year because it's one of the few times when he can wear a disguise and not be recognized.
"I went as Chewbacca last year and it was just great," Benedict gushed. "I put on this mask and no one could tell who I was, so I was able to let loose and enjoy myself. I even got into a dance-off with a Michael Jackson impersonator!"
But despite his love of Halloween costumes, Benedict is keenly aware of the importance of protecting his family's privacy. He revealed that he often disguises himself when going out in public with his loved ones.
"I try not to draw attention to them because they deserve their right to privacy and their time," Benedict said. "As an actor, I'm used to being in the spotlight, but my family isn't. So, I like to keep a low profile when we're together."
Meanwhile, Olivia confessed that she doesn't go out very much these days and has even moved out of London to get some peace and quiet.
"I love London, but it's just too overwhelming," Olivia said. "People are always looking at you, and it can be really scary. But moving out of the city has helped me a lot. I feel like I can come back years later and not be intimidated."
The Thing with Feathers is set to hit UK cinemas on October 24, but in the meantime, fans can catch Benedict and Olivia's hilarious conversation about fame and acting on Dish from Waitrose.
A Sneak Peek into The Thing with Feathers
The movie follows a widowed father as he struggles to cope with the loss of his wife. Alongside his two sons, played by real-life brothers Henry and Richard Boxall, the family must face their grief head-on in order to move forward.
Dylan Southern, the director of the film, was also spotted on the red carpet last night, looking sharp in a black blazer and navy trousers. Max Porter, the writer, stood out in a bold black-and-blue pinstripe co-ord, showcasing his unique sense of style.
The Thing with Feathers is set to be a poignant exploration of grief and loss, but it's clear that Benedict and Olivia are already winners when it comes to navigating the ups and downs of fame.
