Ben Affleck's Brentwood House Hunt: Proximity to Ex-Garner Sparks Speculation
Ben Affleck's House Hunt Hits Snag: Still Searching for Dream Home After Split from Jennifer Lopez
The drama never ends when it comes to Ben Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez! While J.Lo has been busy renovating her $21 million mansion in Hidden Hills, Affleck is still on the hunt for his dream home - 14 months after their split!
The 52-year-old actor was spotted strolling around Brentwood with his trusty German Shepherd sidekick over the weekend, popping into a residential property under construction. We're talking casual Affleck here: black graphic tee, light-wash jeans, and Nike sneakers. The perfect outfit for a low-key house tour.
But why is Ben still searching for his dream home? Well, sources close to the former couple claim that their blended family's needs are vastly different from what J.Lo had envisioned when they bought the $61 million Beverly Hills mansion together in May 2023. That lavish estate, dubbed Crestview Manor, boasts an impressive list of amenities - we're talking a 12-car garage, home bar, gym, sports lounge, boxing ring, and basketball courts galore! However, Ben reportedly found the location inconvenient for his Brentwood-based life and children.
After months of speculation about their crumbling marriage, J.Lo filed for divorce in August, citing April 26, 2024 as their date of separation. Affleck, meanwhile, moved into a $20 million pad in Brentwood in September, placing him closer to his ex-wife and their three children.
And what's J.Lo been up to? Renovating her new Hidden Hills mansion, that's what! An insider told TheScholarlyNote.com in May that the "Unstoppable" actress is spending a pretty penny to make her new crib truly hers. "Jennifer wants it light, bright, and flirty," said the source.
The $21 million mansion is located in the gated community where Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Kris Jenner reside - talk about a celebrity hotbed! With her world tour taking her out of town often, J.Lo will surely have plenty of time to enjoy her new pad.
As for Ben, he's been living it up in a $100,000-a-month rental home in Brentwood, just two blocks away from his ex-wife and their children. Last fall, he upgraded to a $20 million pad in the same area after closing escrow on the five-bedroom mansion in July 2024.
And then there's that infamous Beverly Hills mansion, which J.Lo and Ben are still trying to sell - despite accepting a $64 million offer from a New Jersey buyer that fell through in September. The property remains on the market as of December 2024, with the asking price now at $68 million.
A source close to the couple revealed that J.Lo wasn't thrilled about buying the mansion in the first place, citing its grandiose layout and location. "The $68 million mansion was Ben's idea and a major compromise for her," said the insider. Guess you could say it's been a rocky road to finding their perfect home.
