Barbara Eden at 94: Still a Glowing Hollywood Icon!

Paris Hilton and other famous fans sent greetings. 'Happy Birthday icon!' she said

The One and Only Barbara Eden: A Hollywood Legend Still Enchanting Fans at 94!

In a world where time seems to be flying by, it's not every day that we get to witness a legend still shining bright like a diamond in the rough. And that's exactly what we have with the incomparable Barbara Eden, who just celebrated her 94th birthday in style. The beloved star of the classic TV series I Dream of Jeannie is still got it - and then some!

On Saturday, Eden marked this major milestone with a stunning photo posted on her official Instagram account, where she flashed her signature Jeannie pose in a vibrant blue patterned blouse that would make even the most seasoned fashionista jealous. Her team captioned the post: "Let's all take a moment to wish our favorite blonde, entertainment icon and Hollywood legend Barbara Eden a very VERY Happy Birthday today!" - and boy, did they ever!

The response was overwhelming, with fans pouring in their well-wishes from far and wide. Jennie Garth, star of Beverly Hills, 90210, exclaimed: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARBARA! I [red heart emoji] you!" Meanwhile, socialite Paris Hilton sent her good wishes via Instagram Story, saying: "Happy Birthday icon!"

But what's truly remarkable about Eden is that she's still got the magic with her fans. Despite being 94, she's still rocking it on stage and screen, and was even scheduled to appear at the upcoming FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention in September (although we hope she's not too tired from all the celebrations!).

So, what's the secret to Eden's eternal youth? In an interview with People back in 2023, she revealed: "All through the years, I've noticed that many people don't realize what a joy it is and what a gift it is to be able to work in an arena that you really love." She added: "So many people have to work in jobs they hate, and they have to do it just for sustenance... but aren't we lucky when we can study for something, enjoy it and know that other people enjoy it? I think that's a gift that life gives us, if we are willing to work for it."

We couldn't agree more, Barbara! And speaking of working hard, the nonagenarian also shared her fitness secrets with Fox News in 2024. Apparently, she's still got it going on - and by "it", we mean those killer curves that made her a household name back in the day. When asked about her workout routine, Eden revealed: "I used to work out all the time... I used to do spinning classes and then do weights with a trainer." But due to the pandemic, she had to scale it back a bit - now she sticks to light exercise on her stationary bicycle and lifts five-pound weights (yes, you read that right!).

Now, let's take a trip down memory lane. Eden's career spans over six decades, starting as a skit actress on The Johnny Carson Show in 1956. She then went on to land small roles in I Love Lucy and The Andy Griffith Show before being cast as the titular character in I Dream of Jeannie. And what a role it was! The show was inspired by the popularity of Bewitched, starring Elizabeth Montgomery (another beautiful blonde icon).

But did you know that Eden's costume was a bit scandalous for the era? She was allowed to show her torso, but television standards forbid her from showing her navel - yes, that infamous belly button ban that lasted until 1983! Talk about outdated rules!

Eden is best known for her role as the title character in the hit TV series I Dream of Jeannie, which aired from 1965-1970

Eden has written two books: her memoir, Jeannie Out of the Bottle (2011), and a children's book, Barbara and the Djinn (2021). And let's just say she's got a knack for storytelling - after all, she's been enchanting fans for decades with her wit and charm.

So here's to Barbara Eden: a Hollywood legend who still has it, still sparkles, and still captivates us with her timeless beauty and magic. Happy 94th birthday, Barbara! TheScholarlyNote.com wishes you all the best on this special day - and many more years of shining bright like a diamond in the rough!
