Bam Margera Heartbroken: Mourning the Loss of Hulk Hogan and Ozzy Osbourne
EXCLUSIVE: Bam Margera Breaks Down Over Loss of Hulk Hogan and Ozzy Osbourne - "A Really Rough Week"
It's been a devastating week for fans of two music legends, and one of their closest friends is reeling from the shock. Pro skateboarder Bam Margera has opened up about his heartbreak over the passing of WWE icon Hulk Hogan and Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne in an emotional interview with TMZ.
Margera, 45, was spotted joined by his wife Dannii Marie as he struggled to come to terms with the sudden loss of two friends he had known for years. "It's been a really rough week," he confessed, his voice cracking with emotion. "Especially with the Hogans. My heart goes out to all of them."
The skateboarding star recalled fond memories of spending time with Hogan and his family in Florida over the winter. He even remembered the WWE legend walking around with a cane after an injury, but not letting that stop him from enjoying life. "When I told Marie was a stretch therapist, he said he needed one," Margera shared, chuckling. "So, we pretty much stayed in Florida the whole winter for the Hogans."
But it wasn't all fun and games - Hogan had actually been planning to have dinner with the couple next week! "We were supposed to have dinner together next week," Margera revealed, still trying to process his friend's sudden passing. "I'm still... I feel a certain way. I'm still shocked by it all."
Hogan's death on Thursday was confirmed in a statement from Clearwater Police Department: "Clearwater Fire Department and Clearwater Police Department personnel responded to a medical call at 9:51 a.m. today in the 1000 block of Eldorado Avenue on Clearwater Beach... The nature of the call was for a cardiac arrest." The WWE icon was pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital.
But Margera's sadness goes beyond just Hogan - he also shared a heartfelt tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away two days earlier surrounded by love. "Legends never die," Margera wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of the pair hosting the 2007 VH1 Rock Honors in Las Vegas together. "I'm grateful to have shared this moment with Ozzy Osbourne hosting at the VH1 Rock Honors in Vegas."
The skateboarding star even recalled attending Hogan's son Nick's wedding in January, where both he and Hogan had been in attendance. But what really stood out was their friendship, which went beyond just a nod of recognition - they were close buddies who had shared many adventures together.
Margera revealed that one of Hogan's greatest wishes was to see Swedish-American guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen perform live, something they were able to do before his passing. And it wasn't just about the music - Hogan even shared a throwback photo on Twitter (now X) of the pair from years ago, captioned: "D**n Bam I wish you were still with us. I sure would love to hang out again my brother love u miss u HH."
But what many fans might not know is that Hogan had been dealing with health issues for some time - he had undergone neck surgery and was trying to get back to 100% after a series of grueling surgeries on his neck and back.
As news of his passing spread, the world mourned the loss of another legend. His rep released a statement saying: "He's had problems with his back for years but there's no emergency." But insiders close to Hogan told thescholarlynote.com that his body was "ravaged by wrestling" and he had been struggling to recover from recent neck and back surgeries.
And just two days before Hogan's passing, Ozzy Osbourne's family announced his death in a statement: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love."
Ozzy had been battling Parkinson's disease since 2003, but even in the face of adversity, he remained a larger-than-life figure who left an indelible mark on music history.
The Crazy Train singer's infamous moment biting the head off a bat live on stage has become one of rock 'n' roll's most enduring images - and despite repeated explanations that he thought it was a rubber toy, many still question his sanity (or lack thereof!).
But what fans won't forget is his final performance just weeks before his passing in Birmingham, where he took the stage to thank his adoring crowd: "You've no idea how I feel - thank you from the bottom of my heart."
As the world says goodbye to two music legends who left an indelible mark on our lives, we can only take comfort in the memories they left behind. As Margera so eloquently put it: "Just so many great memories, like sitting beside him hosting karaoke together at his Hogan's Hangout... D**n, I'm gonna miss you man, it hurts."
