Asbestos Scare: Julie Chrisley's Health Battle Post-Prison
PARDONED AND PLAGUED: Julie Chrisley Claims Prison Conditions Left Her with a "Lung Condition"
The scandalous world of reality TV has been rocked by yet another controversy involving the Chrisley family. Julie Chrisley, 52, and her husband Todd Chrisley, 56, were released from prison earlier this year after being pardoned by President Trump, but their freedom comes with a health toll.
According to sources close to the couple, Julie is struggling to breathe due to an alleged asbestos problem at FMC Lexington, Kentucky, where she was serving out her sentence for orchestrating a $30 million bank fraud and tax evasion scheme. Todd, who was imprisoned at a facility in Florida, claims his wife's condition was caused by "black mold" in the prison.
In a shocking revelation on their new podcast, Chrisley Confessions 2.0, Julie revealed that she has developed a lung condition as a result of her time behind bars. "I have a lung condition from being in prison," she told her husband, adding that it's been affecting her daily life. "You will probably notice me at certain times trying to get like a breath," she said.
Todd, ever the supportive partner, chimed in to confirm his wife's claims. "That’s something that we’re having to address right now," he said. "Because now this week.. you have a doctor’s appointment with a pulmonary specialist that’s gonna do some tests on you."
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has denied any wrongdoing, stating that the humane treatment of inmates is their top priority. In an email to The Scholarly Note.com, Benjamin O'Cone of the BOP's Office of Public Affairs said: "It is the mission of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to operate facilities that are safe, secure, and humane. We take seriously our duty to protect the individuals entrusted in our custody, as well as maintaining the safety of our employees and the community. Humane treatment of the men and women in our custody is a top priority."
But Julie's claims of health woes come as no surprise to those who have followed her and Todd's saga. The couple was convicted on 12 counts of tax evasion and fraud, with Todd sentenced to 12 years behind bars and Julie ordered to serve seven.
Their daughter Savannah Chrisley has been vocal about the family's struggles in prison, saying that they were a source of hope for their parents' release. "Grayson [Savannah's brother] and I watched the election together, and he got to vote in the election for the first time," she said on Fox News Channel's My View with Lara Trump. "And when we were watching it and we saw the president win, we both started sobbing. And he just grabbed me and hugged me because we knew that was our only way out."
Savannah also revealed that President Trump personally called her to discuss his plans for her parents. "He was like, 'How are you?' I was like, well, in the wise words of you fighting like hell," she said, laughing. "And I was like, I probably shouldn't have said that to the president, but it is President Trump. A big thing was he asked Alice Johnson, 'Is this a commutation? Or is this a full pardon?' And she said, 'As of now, it's just a commutation.' He goes, 'Nope, Nope. We're going to give them a full pardon. These people get their lives back.'"
And for Julie Chrisley, that means getting her life back on track - literally. She was seen bursting into tears when she found out about the pardon, according to sources close to the family.
"I called Savannah one more time, and she said, 'He did it, he signed it'," Julie shared with The Scholarly Note.com. "And I just started busting out crying. And everyone was looking around, and then I just hung up. I was so nervous, I just hung up."
The Chrisley family's drama continues to unfold, but one thing is certain: their freedom comes with a price - or rather, a health toll that they're now trying to address.
