In a rare and candid interview, Swedish actress Alicia Vikander opened up about her personal life, including co-parenting with husband Michael Fassbender and the struggles she faced in becoming a mother.

The 36-year-old beauty, who shares two young sons with the Irish heartthrob, sat down for a stylish shoot with British Vogue ahead of her highly anticipated West End debut. And let's just say, we're getting all the juicy details!

Alicia revealed that she and Michael have made a conscious effort to never work at the same time, ensuring one parent is always home with the kids. But it's not always easy, especially when they have grueling schedules. "It can be very long days," she confessed. "And a lot of the time you'll leave before the kids get up and then maybe not be back before they sleep."

But what really caught our attention was Alicia's candid discussion about battling "mum guilt". As a working mom, she admitted to feeling guilty about leaving her children in the care of others while she's on set. "With all the parent and mum guilt that you already carry with you constantly – I am battling that a lot, all the time," she shared.

Alicia also dished about life in Lisbon, Portugal, where the family recently made their home. "My husband said he wanted to surf every day," she laughed. "We're on the beach with the kids every weekend we are there." Sounds like paradise!

While Alicia admitted both her and her husband's schedules can be gruelling, she said they make sure never to work at the same time in order for one parent to always be at home

But what really surprised us was Alicia's revelation that she wasn't always the maternal type. "I wasn't really very maternal until I had my own children," she confessed. "But maybe even more after the second one arrived, I started to feel like: 'OK, I know this a little bit now'." We can only imagine how liberating it must be to find her footing as a mom!

In other news, Alicia is set to star in The Lady from the Sea alongside Andrew Lincoln at the Bridge Theatre from September 10th to November 8th. And let's just say, we're counting down the days until she graces the stage!

But what really caught our attention was Alicia's touching tribute to motherhood. "I am kinder to myself too," she said, reflecting on how becoming a mom has changed her. It warms our hearts to see this strong and beautiful woman embracing her new role as a mother.

In the shoot Alicia looked nothing short of sensational as she flaunted her long toned legs in a figure-hugging silk dressed before posing seductivly on a bed wrapped in a fur stole

And if you thought that was all we'd get from this sizzling interview, think again! Alicia also dished about the challenges of balancing work and family life. "I am preparing for two jobs at the moment," she revealed. "And I have come to a point where I'm finding the balance between work and having a family."

But what really stood out was her refreshing honesty about not being able to control every aspect of her career. "You can't be in control of your own work, which is a really strange feeling," she said. "But then you realise that's actually what it's like to be an actor." We love this no-nonsense attitude!

Last year, Alicia revealed that she and Michael had secretly welcomed their second child, a son whose name remains private. And in an interview with ELLE UK, co-star Taylor Russell praised the Oscar winner for her dedication to her craft.

"It took time" for the couple to conceive their first baby together, Alicia shared in an earlier interview with The Times. "We have a child now, but it took us time." She also spoke about suffering an "extreme" miscarriage before getting pregnant with her son.

In fact, Alicia's experiences were eerily similar to those of her character in The Light Between Oceans, where she played a woman who struggles to conceive and eventually adopts a baby. We can only imagine how poignant this must be for her!

Alicia also compared the pain of miscarriage to making that very film. "That film has another meaning now," she said, with tears welling up in her eyes.

As the September issue of British Vogue hits newsstands from August 19th, we're excited to see more of Alicia's stunning features and candid interviews.

And as for her personal life? Well, let's just say it's full of romance, drama, and motherhood – a true fairytale come true!
