Alice Evans Defies Online Trolls: 'I'm Strong, for My Girls'

Alice Evans has hit back after her appearance at a recent court hearing was savaged by an anonymous online troll

Exclusive: Alice Evans Slams Online Troll, Reveals Desperate Struggle with Financial Woes

In a stunning rebuke, British actress Alice Evans has hit back at an anonymous online troll who savaged her appearance at a recent court hearing, revealing the devastating impact of her ongoing legal battle with ex-husband Ioan Gruffudd.

The 56-year-old star of 102 Dalmatians is embroiled in a protracted legal dispute over child support payments for their two daughters, Ella and Elsie. The drama unfolded at a Los Angeles court hearing on July 24, which was attended by Gruffudd and his pregnant new wife Bianca Wallace.

But Evans' latest court appearance was marred by the cruel comments of an anonymous online troll, who attacked her physical appearance and fashion sense. In a scathing private message, the nameless follower told Evans she looked "grossly overweight" and resembled a "freaking walrus walking into court."

Alice's Fury-Fueled Fashion Faux Pas

Sharing a post on Instagram, Evans wrote: "Just received a random DM telling me I am grossly overweight and 'looked like a freaking walrus walking into court on Wednesday.' It went on to say that my choice of outfit was 'horrible' because I had worn it before in public settings many times... that it was 'cheap' and 'badly fitting' and that I had 'clearly made no effort to understand proper court attire.'

The actress, who accompanied her post with a shot of herself outside the courthouse, revealed she was already wracked with insecurity about what to wear for the hearing after spending months attempting to lose weight. "I attach one of the pics of me walking into court on that day because I have actually worked hard on losing weight in the past year, and silly me, I thought I looked ok!" she wrote.

The Courtroom Confrontation: Gruffudd's $4,500 Child Support Payment Under Fire

Wednesday's court appearance was supposed to be an evidentiary hearing in which Gruffudd and Evans were set to joust over her demands for him to shell out more than the $4,500 he is currently paying in child support payments for their two daughters.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Evans says she was subjected to abuse regarding her physical appearance and choice of clothing for the court hearing

But instead, after a 90-minute delay, Judge Josh Stinn scheduled another hearing on August 12 when a date will be set for the case to go to trial. Evans has filed court documents claiming poverty and was so broke that she had to borrow money from friends and set up a GoFundMe account that raised $18,000 in donations.

The Drama Unfolds: Gruffudd's Counterclaims of Financial Woes

In his own court filing, Gruffudd blasted Evans' claims, saying she "purposely got herself evicted... intentionally ceasing paying rent and instead taking the children on a vacation trip to Europe." Her motive, he said, was to support her false public narrative of financial destitution in an attempt to further harm his reputation.

Evans was apparently attacked for wearing the same outfit - a black blouse and matching skirt - on more than one occasion (pictured in the outfit outside court)

Gruffudd also maintained that subpoenaed bank records show that, far from being broke, Evans made more than $130,000 in 2024 and is expected to earn a similar amount this year - a claim that Evans called "false and misleading."

The Battle for Custody: The Emotional Toll on the Children

In his recent court filing, Gruffudd told how he was "mortified" to have received "dozens of stressed messages from our minor children in which they have parroted Alice's false and manufactured claims of becoming homeless in the immediate future."

Gruffudd and Wallace are currently expecting their first child together as a couple. The Welsh actor is already a father to two daughters with ex-wife Evans (pictured outside court)

But Evans denied manipulating the children to send plaintive messages to their father. "I absolutely did not ask the children to send messages to (Gruffudd) about our eviction and pending homelessness," she said. "The children are well aware of our financial distress and the eviction."

A Tale of Two Loves: The Rise and Fall of Alice and Ioan's Relationship

Gruffudd and Evans met on the set of 102 Dalmatians more than 20 years ago. They fell in love in real life and were married in Mexico in 2007. Gruffudd filed for divorce in March 2021, shortly after Evans announced on social media that her husband of 14 years was leaving her.

In the past week, Evans has filed court documents - found by DailyMail.com - in which she claimed poverty and was so broke that she had to borrow money from friends

They were divorced in July 2023. The drama has unfolded publicly, with both parties trading barbs and accusations in the media.

The Verdict: A Fight to the Finish

As the legal battle rages on, Evans is determined to prove her point, stating in her post: "I am being as strong as I have ever been in my life." But will Gruffudd's counterclaims of financial woes and manipulation bring an end to this contentious custody dispute?
