Aimee Lou Wood Transforms into a Reluctant Bank Robber for Anxious People
EXCLUSIVE: Aimee Lou Wood's Bizarre Transformation into 'Anxious People'
Aimee Lou Wood, the talented actress known for her sizzling role as Chelsea in The White Lotus, has left fans bewildered with her drastic transformation on the set of Anxious People in east London over the weekend. The 31-year-old Sex Education star barely recognized herself while filming intense scenes for the upcoming Christmas-themed movie alongside Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie.
A far cry from her glamorous persona, Wood donned a black beanie, oversized jacket, and baggy trousers, looking like a completely different person. As she prepared to tackle an action-packed chase scene, Wood's worried expression hinted at the high-octane drama that was about to unfold on screen.
The budding bank robber, playing the lead role of Grace, is set to star alongside Angelina Jolie in the adaptation of Fredrik Backman's bestselling novel of the same name. Directed by Mark Foster (World War Z), the movie promises a gripping tale of chaos and secrets revealed, all taking place on Christmas Eve.
A source close to the production revealed that Wood was visibly tense while filming scenes at the bustling Christmas market, where she had to sprint through crowds with a shocked expression. To add an extra layer of authenticity, Wood even donned a black balaclava as part of her character's disguise.
This wasn't the first time Wood has expressed her admiration for Jolie. Just last May, she shared a post on Instagram celebrating their upcoming collaboration, calling Angelina a 'goddess' and referencing her iconic performance in Girl, Interrupted (1999). The post revealed that Wood was still reeling from Jolie's Oscar-winning portrayal of a diagnosed sociopath.
For those who haven't caught wind of the plot yet, Anxious People follows Zara (Angelina), an investment banker who reluctantly attends an open house on Christmas Eve. However, things take an unexpected turn when Grace, played by Wood, inadvertently takes the strangers hostage, leading to a series of revelations and oversharing.
Interestingly, director Mark Foster previously adapted Backman's A Man Called Ove into the 2022 film A Man Called Otto, starring Tom Hanks. He will reunite with David Magee, who worked on A Man Called Otto and Forster's 2004 film Finding Neverland, for this latest project.
TheScholarlyNote.com has exclusively obtained these behind-the-scenes photos of Wood's transformation into the 'reluctant bank robber', giving fans a glimpse into the making of Anxious People. Will this Christmas-themed thriller be the break that Wood needs to cement her status as a Hollywood star? Only time will tell!
