Aesha Scott Breaks the 'Golden Rule': Why Intoxicated Guests Face Reality on Below Deck

Chief Stew Aesha Scott spoke exclusively with the DailyMail about the rules for alcohol consumption on the superyacht

Below Deck Mediterranean: The Ultimate Reality TV Show Unleashes Drama and Romance

Get ready for the most explosive season yet of Below Deck Mediterranean, where the drama is real, the hookups are plentiful, and the cast members are more than just a pretty face.

Aesha Scott, the 33-year-old Chief Stew from New Zealand, spills all the tea about what makes this season so unforgettable. "Every year, there's always one guest who breaks all the rules," she reveals to The Scholarly Note in an exclusive interview. "They're trying to push everyone's buttons and get away with everything. But I'm not having it!"

The 33-year-old New Zealand native returns with Captain Sandy Yawn in, what she calls, the 'best season of Below Deck ever'

Scott, a seasoned veteran of the superyacht industry, has seen her fair share of crazy charter guests. "I've learned how to properly say 'no' without offending them," she explains. "You can't just blindly follow the golden rule of 'the customer's never wrong.' That's a myth perpetuated by people who don't know what it's like to work in this industry."

As the self-proclaimed "security guard" of the yacht, Scott is responsible for keeping the peace and ensuring that the charter guests stay safe. But with great power comes great responsibility – or so she thinks. "There aren't any specific rules about how many drinks a guest can have," she admits with a wink. "But I do make my drinks quite strong. The stronger they are, the sooner they'll be asleep and out of trouble."

Of course, things don't always go as planned on Below Deck Mediterranean. Last summer's season was marred by controversy when a charter guest was arrested for jumping into the ocean without a life vest. "It was a jaw-dropping moment," Scott recalls. "And unfortunately, it's not an isolated incident. We've had our fair share of drama and hookups over the years."

Last season on Below Deck, fans watched as a charter guest had a complete drunken meltdown on the yacht and was arrested after jumping in the ocean without a life vest on

So what sets Below Deck Mediterranean apart from other reality TV shows? According to Scott, it's the fact that they don't have the same rules in place as a show like The Bachelor. "We're more raw, more real," she explains. "You get to see the good, the bad, and the ugly – all of which is 100% authentic."

This season promises to deliver even more drama and romance than ever before. With new cast members joining the crew, including Chef Josh Bingham and deckhands Christian Trimino and Tessa Budd, things are bound to heat up on the high seas.

But it's not just about the drama – Scott insists that this season has a little bit of everything. "You'll see hookups, you'll see fights, and you'll see moments of pure joy," she promises. "It's going to be a wild ride from start to finish."

Scott said the crew does not follow the 'golden rule' of the customer's never wrong and said that she has learned when to say 'no' when it comes to alcohol consumption

And speaking of wild rides, Scott can't stop raving about her co-star Captain Sandy Yawn. "She's my idol," Scott gushes. "I love that woman so much! She's got a silly side that nobody ever sees – but I do get to see it when we're not filming. We have the best time together."

In fact, Scott and Captain Sandy are so close that they've become like family. "She even came to my engagement party last year!" Scott exclaims. "And she's invited to my wedding in March 2026 – along with her lovely wife Leah Rae!"

As for the upcoming nuptials, Scott is thrilled to share the details. "It's going to be a beautiful celebration of love and friendship," she says with a smile. "There will be plenty of curries and noodles – it's my favorite Thai food! And I'm so grateful that my loved ones can join me on this special day."

Scott said that she loves working with Captain Sandy Yawn because 'she does not micromanage or overlook me at all, she lets me do my own thing'

So mark your calendars for Mondays at 8pm ET on Bravo, when the drama-filled season of Below Deck Mediterranean premieres. Trust us, you won't want to miss a single episode of this unmissable reality TV show.
